Our Alaska Health Project South Sudan silent auction to help with clean drinking water for people in South Sudan will go live October 3rd at 5:30pm Alaska time. This is one of the items up for bid. Original acrylic on canvas by George Omondi Odongo of Kisumu, Kenya. The frame is hand crafted by AHPSS Program Director Daniel Pisegna. Clean water is the foundation for good health. On October 9th the Alaska Health Project South Sudan will host the 16th annual TurnWineIntoWater at the Hotel Captain Cook, Anchorage, Alaska. The event raises awareness and money for clean drinking water in South Sudan. Tickets on sale at www.ahpss.org Even if you can't attend, you can donate! All gifts will be matched up to $150,000. There's also a silent auction with many great items. We hope to see you October 9th!

Tragic news over night. The village of Old Fangak, our base in South Sudan, was overtaken by flood water after the d**e surrounding the village broke. Luckily no loss of life. The population of Old Fangak had mostly fled from the village earlier this year after an aerial bombardment and attack by helicopter gunships. We are resolved to help, and our team mobilized quickly to move people to safety. Please consider a donation to help this evacuation effort. It's needed now more than ever.
