Running a small business is never easy—but for someone like me, it’s more than just a business. It’s a calling. A sacred space for transformation, healing, and intuitive empowerment. I’m Tamara Zenobia, the founder of Butterfly Jazz Intuitive Arts LLC and Inner Guidance Healing Arts Studio & Gallery, located in Anchorage, Alaska. I’m a Visionary Wellness Medium, vocal alchemist, missing person & paranormal investigator, and intuitive guide.
In this deeply personal interview, I share the raw truth of what it means to be a Black woman business owner navigating the uphill terrain of staying afloat in a system that was never designed for someone like me to thrive in—especially in Alaska. From loan rejections and grant ghosting to the psychological toll of constantly having to “prove” your worth, I lay it all out. In spite of it all I’ve stayed committed to my vision through loss, relocation, debt, and burnout.
But here’s the truth: access to capital is the #1 barrier to growth for many entrepreneurs—especially those of us who don’t fit the traditional mold. The stress of trying to grow while barely staying alive financially is real. Crowdfunding isn’t about asking for a handout—it’s about inviting community into the process of building something meaningful.
✨ My dream is to fully fund my wellness and arts studio so it can serve as a permanent sanctuary for healing, intuitive development, and community education.
