May is High Blood Pressure Education Month.

Nearly half of U.S. adults have high blood pressure, and many are unaware of their condition. High blood pressure is a major contributor to heart disease and the leading risk factor for stroke. To learn more about this connection, check out this infographic from the American Stroke Association.

The good news is that steps to achieve and maintain a healthy blood pressure are those that support health in general. These include:

• Maintaining a healthy weight through regular activity and a heart-healthy diet
• Limiting sodium intake
• Quitting to***co and limiting alcohol
• Monitoring your blood pressure regularly

Summer camp season is upon us...

Registration is open for YMCA Summer Day Camp in Anchorage!

Y camp is special because your child gets to swim, hike, AND go on a field trip each week. We also integrate community service projects to help them become responsible citizens of our community.

Highlights:
• Swimming 1x week
• Hiking 1x week
• Field trip 1x week
• Archery 1x week (Grade 3+)
• Community Service Projects
• Arts and crafts, and more
