Meet Habib from Bangladesh!

At just 13 years old, his world began to blur. Growing up in a poor village, his family worried they couldn’t afford help for his vision.

Thanks to the Symbiosis Primary Eye Care Project (SPECS) and the support of Optometry Giving Sight, Habib received the care he desperately needed. Doctors discovered a cataract in his right eye, arranged subsidized surgery, and provided glasses to restore his sight.

💡 Today, Habib can see clearly again. He’s back to helping his family, earning an income, and living with hope for the future.

At just 10 years old, Alejandra’s world started to blur.
She struggled to read the school board, couldn’t recognize faces from a distance, and her grades began to fall. Fear and frustration took over.

Her parents and teachers knew something was wrong — but eye care was expensive and far from her community.

Born and raised in Anchorage, Dr. Sundet is excited to care for the community he proudly calls home. After completing his Doctor of Optometry degree at Pacific University and advanced residency training in ocular disease and specialty contact lenses, he has returned to Alaska to be closer to family, friends, and the great outdoors.

When he’s not seeing patients, you’ll find him hiking, fishing, camping, kayaking, or skiing—and always ready to hear about a new trail to explore. 🏔️

We’re thrilled to have Dr. Sundet on board and look forward to the compassionate, expert care he’ll provide to our patients.💚
