"As a 30 year veteran Physical Therapist I have grown my skills and knowledge to the level of expert all at AFOC. This was not something I had recognized in myself until a colleague at a conference introduced me as an expert in total joint rehab. That was the first time and a sudden realization that my knowledge meant something. That introduction served as a catalyst to motivate me to pursue a transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certificate in Rehabilitation Administration with the University of Montana through Rehab Essential. When you sign on to be a healthcare provider you also sign on to life long learning and development. I wanted to use my brain scholastically again and advance my credentials to be in line with new graduates but to also open up avenues for sharing my years of practice in out patient orthopedics at a collegiate level. It was well worth it and while my Master's in Physical Therapy was arduous, the transitional DPT is very satisfying. I am dedicated to providing evidence based treatment and fostering students to know the level of purpose one can find in the profession of Physical Therapy. Let the learning continue!" At AFOC, caring for our community doesn’t stop at the clinic doors—it extends into the places we all share and call home.

As part of our commitment to environmental responsibility, our team spent time outside of work picking up litter throughout our community through the Citywide Cleanup. This effort wasn’t about recognition—it was simply about doing our part to help keep Anchorage clean and welcoming for everyone.

We’re grateful to our employees who chose to participate and contribute their time and energy toward something meaningful. Together, small actions add up—and we’re proud to be part of a team that values stewardship, respect, and community care.

This collage is a reflection of those efforts and the shared belief that taking care of our environment is something we can all be a part of.

We always enjoy partnering with Junior Achievement of Alaska to help teach the next generation about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness. We had a great time volunteering at Ocean View Elementary and connecting with students through hands-on learning and real-world lessons. Thank you to the teachers, staff, and students for welcoming us into your classrooms!

Zach and Amy, experienced physical therapists at our Palmer location, recently participated in a career exploration event at the local Career & Technical High School within the Health and Wellness pathway.

They gave students a hands-on look at orthopedic physical therapy, including a live evaluation demonstration—helping bring the profession to life and inspire the next generation!
