This month we made lemonade out of lemons by providing resources & support to campus for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

We hope to help reduce the prevalence of assault on campus and in our communities by sharing information about consent, healthy relationships and resources on how to report and support survivors.

Remember that we foster a culture of respect where everyone should feel safe & supported💚💛

Remeber that STIs can be present without having symptoms. Testing every 3-6 months and between partners is the best way to prevent them!🧪

The Student Health & Counseling Center on campus provides full STI panels for students. Stop by RH 120 or call 907-786-4040 to schedule!

Today is Take Down To***co Day🚬🚫

We are proud to have a smoke free campus and recognize the importance of bringing awareness to the risks of to***co use. Using to***co & ni****ne in any form- including smoking ci******es, va**ng and pouches can cause chronic disease such as cancer and respiratory distress.

This is a perfect time to think about quitting this spring, with summer around the corner there are many activities to offset the need for to***co/ ni****ne such as hiking and enjoying sunny days outside☀️

If you or someone you know are trying to quit, there are local resources available! Check out the Alaska Quit Line site or call 1-800-quit-now

March is Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Awareness Month💚

TBIs are brain injuries caused by external forces, & occur more commonly than you think. Each year, there are 2.9 million emergency department visits related to TBI in the US.

Consciously taking action is important in avoiding TBIs!

Motor vehicle crashes— Buckle up for every ride, whether you are the driver or a passenger. Never get behind the wheel if you are under the influence of alcohol/drugs🚙

Sports-related injuries— Always wear a helmet/appropriate headgear when participating in contact sports or activities where you can lose your balance⛷️🏂

Falls— Make sure that living areas are safe if there are children or older adults in your home. Identify any potential fall risks and eliminate them🛑
