Love this moment! Meet our 2025 Interns — all active-duty : Stephanie DiPiazza, Chelsea Jones & Ariel Hu. Because of the massive amount of experience they're bringing in, we fast‑tracked them into direct service roles—twice as fast as usual—and they jumped right in supporting active-duty, veterans, and first responders in our Wisdom Warriors Program.

In our case, the Mission is mental health, resilience, and healing—and they’re already succeeding!

Social workers bring a unique worldview—centered on service, social justice, dignity, and deep human connection.
Our interns have stepped into those Core Values and made an immediate impact.

To Stephanie, Chelsea, and Ariel: thank you for your professionalism, curiosity, and courage. You are pure mission‑driven souls—and we’re so damn proud.

Here’s to service, healing, and badass teamwork. ✨

At Wisdom Traditions, we believe that healing works best when science and compassion meet. That’s why our counselors and clinicians are trained by our founder, Dr. Michael DeMolina, in evidence-based Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT Tapping)—alongside other trauma-informed approaches like Brainspotting and mindfulness-based care.

For many of us, EFT isn’t new—it’s been part of our toolkit for decades. What’s exciting now is the science catching up. Recent brain imaging studies, peer-reviewed research, and even features in Oprah Magazine confirm what clinicians have been seeing for years:
EFT helps people regulate their nervous system, reduce stress, and release trauma in ways that feel safe and lasting.

Our colleague Mary Sise recently sat down with Dr. Peta Stapleton—an internationally recognized researcher and professor—to talk about the neuroscience of EFT, why it’s becoming a mainstay in trauma-informed care, and how it’s transforming clinical practice.

At Wisdom, we’re proud to offer tools that not only support emotional healing but are also backed by research. Because everyone deserves care that works.

Think of your mind like a snow-covered hill.
Every thought is just a sled gliding down.
The more it travels the same path, the deeper the groove gets.
That’s how habits form. That’s why it gets hard to turn.

It’s something Dr. Robin Carhart-Harris (UCSF neuroscientist) calls **the entropic brain theory**—and it’s one of the guiding lights behind the work we do in our Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) program here at Wisdom Traditions.

Now here’s the twist I love—the Yogic tradition said this thousands of years ago.
They called it saṃskāra...like a rut in the road that you can't get your tires out of, 'cause they're dug in too deep. Same idea. Repeating patterns.
But they also said… You’re Not Stuck!

Sometimes what we need isn’t to "fix" ourselves—
It’s to shake the snow globe. Let fresh snow fall fill in the grooves.
To get one clear, open moment where something new becomes possible.

KAP isn’t magic. It is not a spiritual or emotional bypass. You still have to "Do The Work!"
But it can create a space where that work can occur.
And in that space, maybe the path changes.

If that hits for you, maybe you’re already halfway there.

Freedom means a lot of things.
For some, it’s fireworks and family. For others, it’s the quiet, sacred moment of realizing—I’m finally okay.

At Wisdom, we believe true freedom means breaking the stigma around mental health—and offering hope, connection, and safety for everyone.

So here’s to team spirit, family ties, and the Freedom to be FULLY OURSELVES. Wishing you a day filled with joy, healing, and the courage to lean into support when you need it most.

Together, we shine brighter!

🗳️ VOTE Wisdom Traditions for Best of Alaska 2025

🌿 A weighted blanket is not enough…

Sometimes, what we really need is to dig deep—into the roots of our emotions, our communication patterns, and our nervous systems.

At Wisdom Traditions, our integrative therapy approach offers just that:
🧠 Verbal & nonverbal communication practice
🗣️ Skill-building games like “Say It Another Way” and “Two Truths and a Conflict”
🎯 Communication Bingo (yes—it’s a thing and yes—it’s amazing)
💭 Emotional reflection + self-validation
💬 Assertive rephrasing and boundary-setting

✨And when words feel like too much?
We drop into the body:
🌬️ Guided breath
🖐 Hand tracing
🧘 Mindful movement (Tai Chi, Qigong)
🌌 Somatic awareness + co-regulation with nature

Whether it’s one-on-one therapy or group sessions, we believe in whole-person healing—from your nervous system to your soul.
