Just because you take a class doesn’t mean you don’t have to put in the reps. And just because you came home with a piece of paper doesn’t make you qualified. You know what does? Practice. Practice. Practice.

Learning the skill inside and out before you ever even think about working on a real head. Then, after all that practice, it’s time to work on a model—only when you truly feel confident.

And let me tell you right now… I don’t feel confident yet. Not at all.

So even if it takes me months of practicing on this mannequin head, that’s exactly what I’m going to do before I ever think about touching a real head of hair. Because the state of someone’s hair is my top priority.

Not all extensions move the same — even if they look identical.

Silicone-coated extensions are smooth and shiny because the hair is coated. That coating reduces friction, so they feel soft and detangle easily at first. Because the strands are slick, the hair tends to move together instead of individually, which can make the texture feel less like natural hair. Silicone also blocks moisture, and as it wears off with washing and heat, the hair underneath can dry out, shortening the lifespan if care isn’t consistent.

Non-silicone extensions feel different right out of the package. They have more texture, less artificial shine, and feel closer to real hair. Without a coating, moisture can pe*****te the hair, allowing it to behave and move more like your natural hair when properly maintained.

Same look at install. Very different texture, movement, and maintenance.

My proudest moment of 2025.
My very first mesh integration install.

This wasn’t just about hair — it was about trust, precision, and stepping into a new level of my craft. I remember finishing this install and feeling so proud in that moment… like, wow, I really did that.

Mesh integration is about working with what’s already there, protecting the scalp, and creating something that looks natural and feels like you again.

Grateful for the client who trusted me and for the growth that comes from doing things before you feel 100% ready.
