For a vegetable, corn certainly gets the side-eye from healthy eaters. However, corn has a place in a nutritious diet, especially when it's in season and readily available like it is now. Did you know that fresh corn is a low to medium glycemic index food and full of nutrients? In about half a cup of corn, you get 4 grams of protein and 2.4 grams of fiber, which aids gut health. Corn also has manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, folate, potassium, and some B vitamins.

Simple and perfect to serve at your 4th of July cookout!!

Strawberries
Cherries
Watermelon
Raspberries

WHITE
Bananas
Yogurt covered pretzels
Yogurt covered raisins
Popcorn

BLUE
Blueberries
Blackberries
Purple grapes

Serve with fruit dip: combine dairy free unsweetened yogurt with cinnamon, a little honey, and vanilla extract.

Who remembers the cabbage soup diet? I did this with my mom and it was gross! I was hungry! 😄 How about the grapefruit diet?!!! Oh, that was a good one! NOT!! Or 2 shakes a day and a "sensible" meal...I'll leave the name out but you know what I'm talking about. We've all tried it!

NEW MOMENTS - NEW CHOICES
I heard something today that I thought was really interesting. Everything right now is about a new year, new you but it's not really about a new you is it? It's about NEW MOMENTS and with new moments we have new choices. This led me to think about the choices we make with food, and how those foods make us feel. For the last few weeks I've made some choices that were filled with joy and happy moments but not the best food choices to make me feel my best.

Which led me to think about how I coach midlife women to nourish their bodies to FEEL better physically and mentally, guiding them to take new moments to make new choices. I am really looking forward to making new moments and new choices to feel my best and I hope you'll join me to make them too.

🥕2-3 tbsp Hummus or Guacamole with 1/2 cup Carrots
🍌1 tbsp Nut Butter and 1 small Banana
🥚 2 Boiled Eggs and 1 cup of berries
🥣 1/2 - 1 cup plain yogurt, 1 tbsp of Pumpkin Seeds, 1/2 c. Berries
🍓1/2 cup oatmeal, 1 tbsp of PB, Top w/ Sliced Strawberries
🥄Overnight Oats with Chia Seeds, Top w/Blueberries
