During Women’s Health Month, it’s important to keep conversations around women’s health evolving.

PCOS has a new name: PMOS, or polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome. 🔬

The update reflects what we now know. This condition involves hormones, metabolism, mental health and more, not just the ovaries.
A more accurate name can help support better diagnoses, reduce stigma and strengthen research. If you have questions about PMOS, our care teams are here to help. http://ascn.io/6184BB7YnY 🩷

Catina Allen, who has been part of Ascension St. Vincent Anderson for more than 20 years, was recently recognized as a DAISY Honoree for the compassion she shows every day.

She’s been described as an angel, a blessing, and someone who always goes above and beyond for others. One nominator shared how Catina cared for a patient who had been homeless for two years and was working hard in their recovery. Catina brought them a sleeping bag along with hygiene and sanitizer items, offering both comfort and hope.

In the patient’s words, “Thank God for Catina.”

We’re so proud to have Catina on our team 💙

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating more than moms. We’re celebrating legacies of care. 🩷

Across our hospital, you’ll find mothers and children walking the same halls, answering the same calling, and serving the same community, together and across generations.

From first steps to first shifts, their journeys are intertwined by compassion, dedication, and a shared commitment to healing.

To the moms who inspired the path—and the children who proudly followed it—thank you for caring for all of us.

Happy Mother’s Day. 💐

This National Nurses Week, we thank our nurses for the compassion they bring to every moment of care. 💙
For Josh Lundrigan, RN, nursing is about heartfelt connections with patients and their families. Care goes beyond tasks and charts. It is found in the quiet, meaningful moments that matter most.

May is Stroke Awareness Month, but being prepared is important all year long. To spot a stroke anytime, anywhere, use BE FAST: Balance loss. Eye changes. Face drooping. Arm weakness. Speech difficulty. Time to call 911.

Security Officer Dexter Willingham is the recipient of the April Living Our Values Every Day (LOVED) Award.

Dexter was nominated by a team member who shared just how much his kindness, calm presence, and willingness to help mean to those around him.

“Dexter is a very caring young man. He always checks on our department to make sure we are okay and have what we need. I can call Dexter when there is an elderly patient who needs help getting where they need to go. During the snowstorm, he was out cleaning off people’s vehicles. Even with everything Security has going on, he is always calm and respectful and tries to find a solution that is helpful. For someone as young as him, his compassion amazes me. I can always count on Dexter if I need to call him to help with anything.”

We are so proud to have Dexter on our team and grateful for the compassion he shows every day.
