The child was seven and his mom sat in the office, holding the weight of years in her shoulders. “He’s been in occupational therapy since he was 3 1/2.”, she said. “ it’s helped… But not enough.”
The mother list of the challenges : head and neck discomfort, worse during reading, coloring, or anything that required sustained, looking down or up. He had started trying to pop his own neck and fingers multiple times a day, like his body was searching for relief. It couldn’t quite find.
It wasn’t that he was broken. His system was doing its best to adapt under pressure. As a chiropractor, what we see across the posture, movement and sensory responses are consistent patterns of tension along the structural pathway.
