Is Your Child Eligible for the Indiana Education Scholarship Account?
APPLICATION DEADLINE - SEPT. 1, 2023
(Please note: Indiana ESA information in this post was obtained from the Indiana Treasurer of State website.)
Hundreds of thousands of students throughout Indiana live with special needs that make fitting into a traditional school setting difficult. But the Indiana Education Scholarship Account can make it easier.
The INESA provides scholarship funding to eligible Indiana students with disabilities, helping parents customize schooling if their child is receiving non-public education – such as private education, at-home learning, and other non-public educational settings that qualify. But how do you know if your child is eligible for the INESA?
Five key eligibility requirements include that your student must be:
1. 5 years of age or older
2. In a K-12 grade level
3. Less than 22 years of age by Oct. 1, 2023
4. Requires Individualized Education Plan (IEP, ISP, or ESA SP)
5. At or below income level. (Family of four $222,000.)
To find all of the eligibility requirements, a checklist, and frequently asked questions, go to https://www.in.gov/tos/inesa/parent-page/
Keep in mind that the deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 1, 2023!
