Peggy Moss

Peggy Moss, 72, of Alexandria, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, following an extended illness.

Born on October 27, 1953, Peggy lived a life defined by love, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that made each day meaningful.

Peggy spent many years working at HDP in Alexandria, where she formed lifelong friendships and, most importantly, met the love of her life, William Mitchell. Their bond was one of true partnership, laughter, and unwavering devotion.

A lover of the outdoors, Peggy found her greatest peace in nature. Whether she was fishing along quiet banks, camping under the stars, or hiking wooded trails, she embraced every opportunity to be outside. She was also a proud and passionate Indianapolis Colts fan, never missing a game and cheering with unmatched enthusiasm.

Peggy valued time with her family and friends, but she had no soft touch. Her sharp wit, steady confidence, and fierce competitive streak—especially at euchre and gin—made every game a challenge worth showing up for. She had a way of commanding a room, keeping everyone on their toes, and making people feel like they belonged without ever getting sentimental about it.

She is survived by her siblings Carolyn Cook, Sharon Gossage, Susan Mundy, Ricky Lagle, Tammy (Tony) Hays, and Deborah (William) Fortwengler, who will forever hold her memory close.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Martha; her brother Charles (Dave) Lagle; her sister Joann Caldwell; and her son Trent Pritchard.

Peggy’s life was one of kindness, strength, and heartfelt connection. Those who knew her will remember her laughter, her loyalty, and the way she made every gathering brighter. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:30 AM, with a service to immediately follow at 12:30 PM.
