Tracy Ann Chitwood

Tracy Ann Chitwood, 59, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on January 7, 2026. She was born on September 25, 1966, in Prince William, Virginia, to Tina June Klare.

Tracy lived in Palm Springs, Florida, before eventually settling in Indiana, where she made her home and built a life. She was a high school graduate and worked for a time at Chick-fil-A. In 1999, Tracy met the love of her life, John Arthur Robbins. Their story stretched across many years, and before John’s passing, they were planning to be married again.

Tracy loved enjoying life. She liked taking walks in the fall, coloring, shopping, and spending time with the people she loved most. She was proudly sober for 14 years—an accomplishment she held close to her heart—and she treasured being a grandmother above all else. Tracy attended Calvary Temple Church in Indianapolis with her mother.

Anyone who knew Tracy knew she was lovable, outspoken, and never afraid to tell you exactly how she felt. She loved Coca-Cola, eating ice, butterflies, sea turtles, and the colors purple and turquoise. Her big personality and honest heart made her unforgettable.

She is survived by her children: Robert Wesley Puawa, Tyler Lee Killmond, Victoria Davis, Tiffany Ann Chitwood, Morgan Daniell Shumate, Shantell Marie Robbins, and Steven Allen Smyser; her brother, Richard Holland; her sister, Peggy Sue Cox; her aunts and uncles, Linda Beesley, Tom Scott, Bradly Scott, Bret Scott, and Bryan Scott; her nieces and nephews, Mackenzie Ford, Jazzmyne Ford, Cody Morrison, and Terry Morrison; and her beloved grandchildren: Lee Davis, Joseph Davis, Nathaniel Davis, Lillith Davis, Akiah Davis, Colson Robbins, Jasper Pruitt, Lexie Smyser, Ashton Smyser, Jaxon Smyser, Alyssa Smyser, and Layla Killmond.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Tina June Klare, and the love of her life, John Arthur Robbins.

Service arrangements are pending and will be shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with unexpected expenses and service arrangements.

Tracy was one of a kind — bold, loving, and full of color. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Roger David Horton

Roger David Horton, age 68, passed away on January 6, 2026. He was born on December 13, 1957, in Anderson, Indiana, to Roger Wayne Horton and Edna Loraine Feight.

Roger grew up in Anderson, Indiana, and cherished the summers of his childhood spent in Kentucky with his grandmother—memories that stayed close to his heart throughout his life. He graduated from Lapel High School and continued his education at Texas A&M University. In 1974, Roger joined the United States Navy, where he developed skills that shaped much of his life’s work. During his service, he became a certified pipe fitter and welder, trades he carried after his military years. He later shared his knowledge by teaching welding classes at Ivy Tech, impacting many students through his skill and encouragement.

Roger was deeply loved and respected. He was a very good man—steady, dependable, and always there when someone needed him. He was the “rock and glue” to the family. Easygoing by nature and a jokester at heart, Roger had a way of making people feel comfortable and valued. Anyone who crossed paths with him was impacted in some way. He was a family man and opened his heart and home to many, helping raise extra children along the way and loving them as his own.

He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Some of his favorite times were spent c**n hunting and trap hunting with his son, nephew, and grandchildren. His grandchildren were the joy that kept him going. When he wasn’t outdoors, he could often be found in his garage, working on his truck, tinkering, painting, or restoring cars.

Roger is survived by his wife, Cynthia Horton; children, Michael David Horton Sr., Amanda Kay Horton, Michelle Lynn Horton, and Melinda Horton (Travis Spencer); grandchildren, Austin Lee Brown, Trent Wayne Brown, Elijah Copeland, Taylor Farley, Michael David Horton Jr., Jazzlynn Spencer, Ariel Horton, and Valerie Spencer; great-grandchildren, Jasper and Avery Brown, Braxton Copeland, and Skylynn Farley. He is also survived by his siblings, Vicky Horton and Ronny Brady, and Bonnie Brady; and nephews Brandon(Samantha) Brady Jr. and Brian (Melody) Brady.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roger Wayne Horton and Edna Loraine Feight; and his siblings, Tammy Horton Crum, Chris Lee, Terry Horton, Danisha Fogel, Barbara Gross, and Donny Brady.

Roger will be remembered for his generous heart, steady presence, and the laughter he brought into so many lives.

Don’t remember me with tears,Remember all the laughter,We’ve shared throughout the years. Now I am contentedThat my life it was worthwhile,Knowing as I passed along the wayI made somebody smile. When you are walking down the streetAnd you’ve got me on your mind,I’m walking in your footstepsOnly half a step behind. So please don’t be unhappyJust because I’m out of sight,Remember that I’m with youEach morning, noon and night.

As I sit in heaven and watch you every day,I try to let you know with signs I never went away.I hear you when you’re laughing and watch you as you sleep.I even place my arms around you to calm you as you weep.I see you wish the days away, begging to have me home.So I try to send you signs so you know you’re not alone.Don’t feel guilty that you have life that was denied to me.Heaven is truly beautiful, just you wait and see.So live your life, laugh again, enjoy yourself, be free. Then I know with every breath you take, you’ll be taking one for me.

Bret Logan Callender

Logan was born in Anderson, Indiana to Pamela and Christopher Callender at St John’s Hospital. He died on November 11th at Community Hospital Anderson.

He loved spending time with his best friend and girlfriend of 10 years, Laurie. They loved their home, gardening and hanging out with their cats. Logan was an intellect that loved books, music, games and a good debate. He loved Star Trek and Witcher. His sarcasm and quick wit were unmatched.

In his younger years he could be walking around Anderson in his Chuck Taylor’s listening to They Might Be Giants and Ween on his headphones or hanging out at the coffee shop or A1 records.

To his brothers, Logan was everything. He and his brothers Clark and Nolan could be found playing games or in a heated debate about any subject that you could possibly think of. Often their friend, Braden, was in the mix, which said a lot because not many people could keep up with the Callender brothers. He also liked gaming and hanging out with his long time friend James.

In later years Logan helped care for his grandfather after a debilitating stroke. He cherished this time, saying it gave him a unique opportunity to really know his grandfather as a person.

Logan was famous for setting cheese on fire every year on his birthday. He was an excellent cook. Logan can be quoted as saying, “Life is too short to not throw things at your cousins.” All his cousins considered him more of a sibling and he made them all feel special and loved. He was full of charisma and his light shone bright . Most of all Logan was undeniably cool.

“And when your sorrow is comforted (time soothes all sorrows) you will be content that you have known me.”

Logan is survived by his longtime love and life partner Laurie Woods. Parents Pamela Marsh and Christopher Callender. Brothers Nolan (Kat) Callender and Clark Callender . Nephews Alexie, Soren, Lewis, and Adam Callender . Several maternal cousins Myron (Cynthia) Marsh, Gay (Leighanne) Marsh, Jennifer (Bob) McCarten, Lindsay Morrison, Sybilla (Josh) Medlin, Basil (Eric) Johnson, Levi Marsh, Zoë Duah, Jacob Marsh, Echo Bryson, Giles Bryson and Atticus Bryson.

Paternal cousins Stephanie, Erica, Elizabeth, Courtney, Kaitlyn, Andrew, and Ethan.

Maternal Aunts and Uncles Bill and Cessy Marsh, Cheryl McGinnis, Lorraine Marsh, Steve and Carey Bryson .

Paternal aunts and uncles Bret Callender, Dean Callender and Amy Girt. Grandmother Gaynelle Callender. Grandfather Thomas Callender.

He was preceded in death by special great grandparents Opal and Oras Wallace, grandparents Thomas and Sue Marsh.

Shout out to Ryan, Jeanie and the ER and ICU teams at Community Hospital Anderson for exceptional care.

You - you alone will have the stars as no one else has them...In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night...You - only you - will have stars that can laugh.
