They channeled their inner chef to create a dessert that doesn't require any baking – a chocolate eclair cake! Just add Cool Whip, graham crackers, Jell-O vanilla pudding, chocolate and a little love.

When Hurricane Michael destroyed Portia’s Florida home, her daughter Danna worried about what would come next. What they found was more than just a safe place to live – it was a community that celebrates Portia’s talents as an artist and creates new friendships while providing the support she needs.

“I really like that there are nurses there and there’s a doctor who comes by once a week,” Danna says. “It puts me at ease to know that there are people there in case she needs anything health-wise.”

A big celebration was held at Atria Park of Ann Arbor for Daryl's 101st birthday!

When we asked her what 101 years of life is like, she said, "It's been all over the map – I've had good times and bad times. But I'm very grateful to have lived for this long. Life is still fun!"

She likes going for rides, being with her kids, reading, sleeping, and of course, ice cream. "There is always time for ice cream," she adds.

Paul's got the beat!

Not only is he a wonderful member of the kitchen staff at Atria Maplewood Place, but he's also a professional drummer!

He recently brought the community's courtyard to life, transporting his drum set all the way from home to share his talents with residents.

"I started banging on pots and pans as a kid before taking lessons and eventually attending Berklee College of Music," he shares. Over the years, Paul has played in all kinds of bands and even does studio work when he can.

We are so fortunate when we get to see the amazing hidden talents of our team. Thanks for sharing your music with us, Paul!

Our residents had a picture-perfect fall day at Parlee Farms, picking a bushel and a peck of fresh apples and enjoying the season’s sweetest treat—warm apple cider donuts!
Even better? They picked all those apples with a purpose! The bounty is headed straight to our Culinary team, who will be turning it into homemade apple pies and caramel apples. There’s truly nothing like local produce picked with love.

Our Life Guidance community had an absolute blast at Lazy Cat Lounge! From the moment we walked in, the room was full of laughter, movement, and curious cats ready to play.
Residents used toys to engage with the kitties, shared stories about their own pets, and lit up with joy as cats climbed into laps or chased after dangling strings. The energy was contagious, and the smiles were nonstop!
Huge thanks to the Lazy Cat Lounge team for welcoming us so warmly. These lively, hands-on experiences bring joy, connection, and unforgettable moments to our community.
