One of the most overlooked aspects of peripheral neuropathy is how it affects the hands. While foot neuropathy gets most of the attention – and rightfully so, given the balance and mobility issues it creates – hand neuropathy can be equally devastating to your quality of life.
Think about how much you use your hands every single day: buttoning shirts, writing, cooking, typing, crafting, playing instruments, or simply holding hands with your spouse. When neuropathy affects your hands, these simple daily activities become frustrating challenges.
Our patients with hand neuropathy often tell us:

'I can't feel the keys when I'm typing'
'I keep dropping my coffee cup'
'I can't tell if water is hot or cold'
'Writing Christmas cards has become impossible'
'I'm afraid to hold my new grandbaby because I might drop them'

Don't let hand neuropathy rob you of your independence, hobbies, or ability to care for others. There are solutions beyond 'learning to live with it.

Summer activities shouldn't require a backup plan for neuropathy flare-ups. If you're tired of missing out on camping trips because of uncomfortable sleeping, avoiding pool parties because of balance concerns, or cutting short outdoor activities due to pain, it's time to consider a different approach. When you properly address neuropathy's underlying causes, you're not just treating symptoms – you're restoring your ability to live fully in every season.

This summer, give yourself the gift of presence over pain management. Too many neuropathy patients spend beautiful summer days focused on when to take their next medication, how long they can stand or walk, or whether they'll be able to participate in family activities. But imagine a summer where you could simply show up and enjoy – whether that's a grandchild's baseball game, a evening stroll with your spouse, or a long-awaited vacation. That kind of summer freedom is possible when you address neuropathy comprehensively rather than just managing its symptoms.

"Remember when summer meant endless possibilities instead of careful planning around your symptoms? Our patients often share how neuropathy had turned summer into a season of limitations – avoiding walks because of balance issues, skipping family gatherings due to pain, or staying indoors because heat made their symptoms worse. But summer after summer, we see patients reclaim their favorite seasonal activities. This could be your year to enjoy barefoot walks, comfortable travel, and pain-free time with family and friends.

Summer should be about making memories, not managing pain. While others are planning beach trips and family reunions, many neuropathy patients are wondering how they'll get through another season of canceled plans and limited activities. But what if this summer could be different? What if instead of worrying about whether you can walk on the sand or stand at a barbecue, you could simply enjoy these moments? Many of our patients tell us that getting their neuropathy under control has given them back their summers – and their lives.

"Grandpa, why can't you come play with us?"

Those words hit harder than any physical pain, don't they?

Summer used to be YOUR season:

Teaching grandkids to fish at the lake
Building sandcastles on family vacations
Pushing swings at the neighborhood park
Leading family hikes through nature trails

But neuropathy has turned you into a spectator in your own family's summer story.
The burning feet, tingling hands, and balance issues aren't just stealing your comfort – they're stealing irreplaceable moments with the people you love most.
At Asuta Health, we understand that neuropathy treatment isn't just about pain relief. It's about reclaiming your role as the active grandparent, parent, and family member you want to be.

At our clinic, we don't just treat what you feel – we treat what's causing what you feel. The four root causes we address are:
Decreased blood flow to the nerves
Nerve dysfunction and poor communication
Chronic inflammation damaging nerve tissue
Actual nerve tissue damage that needs repair
When you address these underlying problems instead of just masking symptoms with medications, your body can actually begin to heal. That's why our patients see results that seemed impossible with traditional treatments.
