The Reality of Owning a Direct-Care Podiatry Practice
One of the things I love most about the direct-care model is that it truly allows me to put patients first. But the reality is… it doesn’t always follow a perfectly convenient schedule.

In a traditional system, patients often wait weeks to be seen, deal with phone trees, or get rushed through appointments.

At Foundation Foot Health Clinic, it works a little differently.

It means:
• Answering phone calls and texts directly from patients
• Making schedule adjustments so someone can be seen quickly when they’re hurting
• Opening up extra time when someone needs care sooner rather than later
• Filling a Friday morning with several patients needing Remy Laser treatments before heading out for spring break

Is it always the most convenient schedule for me? Not always.

But when someone is dealing with foot pain, a stubborn fungal nail, or a problem that’s keeping them from staying active… waiting weeks isn’t a great option.

⚾ My Favorite Season is Starting ⚾
My favorite sports season of the year is officially here and as a Head Coach/Manager, it all begins with Draft Day for Ankeny Little League 10U baseball.

This year I’m excited to lead the Cardinals and help these young players develop their skills, build confidence, and most importantly learn to love the game.

Little League baseball is about so much more than wins and losses. It’s about:
⚾ Learning teamwork
⚾ Showing good sportsmanship
⚾ Working hard and improving
⚾ Making memories that last a lifetime

I can’t wait to meet the team and get this season started.

I have to be honest. The thought of staying home from work stresses me out, especially when I’m trying to grow my own practice. I feel like I am going to miss out on a patient or I have work that can be done to grow the practice. But I realize today that it is a blessing to be your own boss and that you can adjust your schedule as needed to be able to stay home with a sick kid and I don’t have to ask permission. Part of my desire to start Foundation Foot Health Clinic was to be more present for my family and today is one of those days.
