Here's MEND at our Internal Design Review last December!

Internal Design Review is an M-HEAL event where we present all the work that has been going on in our organization to other M-Heal members, advisors, and faculty. We had a great time sharing our progress over the past few months and gained valuable feedback!

Welcome to Project MEND!

Project MEND was founded at the University of Michigan in 2017 out of an M-HEAL (Michigan Health Engineered for All Lives) incubator program. We are a multidisciplinary student-run team composed of engineering, business, public health, and pre-medical students striving to improve older adult health and contribute to geriatric healthcare innovation.

MEND consists of 3 sub teams: mechanical, electrical, and business. After conducting in-depth interviews in geriatric patient care environments, we were able to finalize user requirements and design specifications to begin creating an initial prototype of a device designed to decrease fall risk during usage. Our goal this semester is to begin fabricating a high - fidelity prototype for the mechanical device as well as begin early stage testing of our electrical prototype.
