We will be doing a livestream with Oncology Physical Therapists, Jen Bernstein and Adam Matichak on Monday at 7PM eastern time to 8PM eastern time. Ask them questions in the chat during the livestream. We will address any questions you have at the end of the chat. We are very excited to have them on the podcast! Simply check the disability guerrillas page to connect to the livestream.

Adam Matichak, PT, DPT is a board-certified oncologic clinical specialist at Stanford Healthcare, working with hematology and bone marrow transplant teams. He is passionate about advancing cancer rehab and equipping providers with the soft skills essential to patient care—effective communication, navigating difficult conversations, and supporting patients through grief and loss. Adam has presented nationally, including at the APTA CSM and Cancer Rehab Community Conferences, and is a recognized voice in oncology rehabilitation.

Dr. Jen Bernstein has been a practicing physical therapist for over 11 years, all of which have been spent at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her areas of specialty practice within physical therapy include Oncology, Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplant for pediatric, adolescent and young adult patients. Jennifer received her Board Certification in Oncology in 2020 and has been involved in extensive program development and leadership roles representing the hospital's occupational and physical therapists. She serves as the Specialization Chair for the Oncology section of the APTA, which allows her to actively engage with other passionate members of the organization. She serves as a mentor in the APTA Oncology Mentorship Program and has greatly enjoyed sharing her knowledge about the world of oncology physical therapy. Most recently, she transitioned into the role of Assistant Item Writing Coordination on the Oncologic Specialty Council through ABPTS. She has enjoyed being featured on “The OncoPT Podcast” and serving as a guest contributor for a Medbridge Course about Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology

Forced into an early retirement due to a number of physical and cognitive deficits, he spends the time he does have energy focusing on traditional patient advocacy and what he calls “creative advocacy” (blogging, vlogging, and podcasting) as well as spending time with his two young children.
