What an inspiring day at the Physical Activity Policy & Systems Change Symposium!
On May 20th at the Michigan Athletic Club in Lansing, we welcomed over 60 leaders representing 40+ organizations to drive a shared vision: building a healthier, more active Michigan through bold policy and systems change.
We’re incredibly grateful to our lineup of nationally recognized speakers who brought energy, expertise, and actionable ideas to the table:
Dr. Russ Pate, on the history of the National Physical Activity Plan
Dr. NiCole Keith, sharing current National Physical Activity Plan strategies
Laurie Whitsel, offering insights into the Physical Activity Alliance
Dr. Eloise Elliott and Dr. Robin Shook, highlighting the power of state & local collaboration
Senator Kevin Hertel, who reinforced the critical role of policy leadership in advancing health through movement
From sector-specific roundtables to powerful breakout sessions, this event was all about moving from talk to action.
The movement doesn’t stop here. Learn more about the Symposium and how you can get involved: https://mimoves.org
