Through out the holiday joy and baby giggles, don't forget about YOU, amazing new parents! This season, make self-care a priority – you've earned it!

Here are a few tips to nurture yourselves:

1️⃣ Tag Team Time: Share baby duties with your co-pilot. Teamwork makes the dream work!

2️⃣ Schedule "Me Time": Block out moments for yourself. Whether it's a hot bath, a chapter of a book, or just a peaceful cup of tea – savor it.

3️⃣ Accept Help: If your loved ones offer to babysit or a friend wants to drop off a meal, say YES! It's okay to lean on your village.

4️⃣ Virtual Connection: Reach out to fellow new parents. Share stories, swap advice, and laugh about the chaos. You're not alone!

5️⃣ Create Simple Traditions: Establish easy, enjoyable traditions that involve the whole family. It could be a cozy movie night or a special holiday walk.

Remember, a happy, healthy YOU is the best gift you can give to yourself and your new family 🎁

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰?

In infants, colic typically refers to excessive, inconsolable crying and fussiness, often occurring in the late afternoon or evening.

The exact cause of infantile colic is not well understood, but it is believed to be related to a combination of factors, including digestive immaturity, sensitivity to certain foods, and the baby's developing nervous system.

Colic is a common condition, and while it can be distressing for both babies and their parents, it usually improves on its own as the infant gets older.

If you (and your colicy baby) could use some additional postpartum support, please do not hesitate to reach out to Michigan Family Doulas 🤍
