Community Cleanup Success!

The Genesee Conservation District and Genesee County Land Bank joined forces to clean up, clear and restore several blocks on Flint's north side!

Last week, passionate volunteers tackled illegal dumping, filling over a dozen bags with trash in just a few hours. After, Land Bank crew are hauled away the debris to keep the momentum going.

But we’re not stopping there! Plans are underway to remove dead or dying trees and invasive species, paving the way for replanting and more cleanup efforts in the near future.

Together, we’re building a cleaner, greener, and safer Flint!

Exciting News! Home Improvement Grants to Residents in Flint and Genesee County

Metro Community Development is thrilled to share the positive community impact achieved this year through our partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis’ Neighborhood Improvement Program (NIP).

Together, we helped 63 local homeowners receive up to $15,000 each to make essential home repairs such as new roofs, windows, furnaces and more. This program has helped families remain safe and comfortable in their homes while improving property values and community stability.

This is just one of the ways Metro is helping families to move forward!
