Ann Arbor CERT

Ann Arbor CERT NOTE: This page is run by volunteers, and DOES NOT speak on behalf of the City of Ann Arbor.

We promote education for community resilience, disaster preparedness for hazards impacting our area, and we train citizens in basic emergency response skills. Ann Arbor CERT is a volunteer organization, and we do not represent the City of Ann Arbor in an official capacity. Taken from the Citizen Corps page at https://www.ready.gov/citizen-corps-partner-programs : The Community Emergency Response T

eam (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations. Using their training, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event and can take a more active role in preparing their community. The program is administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Please visit the CERT program web page for more information (https://www.fema.gov/community-emergency-response-teams).
