Earlier this week, we had an entertainer cancel their performance. On the fly, Larry offered to lead a class on his specialty and fascination - how to write your autobiography. Larry is an author of many articles and books, so his expertise was great! He gave us great advice and thoughts to start our autobiographies.

His best piece of advice to get started? "Just write it all down, anything you can think of. It doesn't have to be perfect, but just get it on paper. It'll spark other thoughts too. After that, organize your thoughts into categories, then elaborate on those thoughts and see what you came up with." Great job, Larry!

Happy National Activity Professionals Week!

We’re celebrating the heart and creativity of our Engage Life team, who make every day special for our residents. A big shoutout to Ebony, Missy, Karen, Beth, and Grace, for their dedication, energy and passion!

Missy, our Engage Life Director, shares, “I am truly honored to work with these wonderful people. They work so hard to allow the residents know how much they value them. What people don't see are the many times they have to adapt situations last-minute, or become a technology expert to help solve a problem, or assist a resident in a troubling situation. They work great as a team and strive to make everyone feel loved and valued, and I am so proud of them for that. Way to go, team!"

Thank you all for your incredible work. Your creativity and care make our community a brighter, more joyful place!

We hope you are staying warm during this storm, where ever you are! One of our favorite ways to stay warm is by drinking Hot Chocolate. This week, we had a hot chocolate sampling of random flavors to see if we could guess what they were. Caramel seemed to be the winning flavor of all!

Don, Masyn, and Dakota prove that it’s always a good time to make new friends. Masyn and Dakota often tell each other jokes while serving residents meals in the dining room. While cleaning the dining room, they noticed that Don was staying behind, just to listen to their jokes and try to guess the answers to them. These jokesters can often be found telling jokes back and forth and laughing throughout the dining room at any moment throughout the day. Even with it being cold outside, we are weathering the storm with laughter!

We love getting to see amazing friendships flourish at our community! These types of moments make our community a family. A family who has fun together and cares for each other.

We honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., reflecting on his message of equality, hope and service.

Our community came together to celebrate with a donation of school supplies to Clague Middle School. The residents helped to put together a shopping list of school supplies to buy, then arranged them, and helped to deliver them. We have such a giving community, and we love to be a part of it.

Let’s keep Dr. King’s dream alive through acts of kindness, unity and love. 💙
