STARTING NEXT WEEK!

Yoga has been used to develop awareness of body and mind for thousands of years. Today, there are a wide variety of styles to choose from based on your personal needs, goals, and interests. This class will be great for all bodies to explore mindful movement, including folks with disabilities or limited mobility. Learn poses you can practice on your own and explore modifications that feel good for your body!

Notes on access: The class is taught on the ground floor of a wheelchair accessible building. There are no steps. There is one, single occupancy, all gender, wheelchair accessible bathroom.

Our Chair Yoga teacher, Raina, has been practicing yoga since 2009 and in 2013 participated in a yoga teacher training with Ana Hough of A2 Yoga. She believes her role as a yoga teacher is to hold space for students to safely and courageously connect with and learn about themselves. Raina is also a therapist with Amplify! Fore more information about Raina's teaching visit RISEeducationandconsulting.com or follow her on Facebook and Instagram !

STARTING NEXT WEEK!

Yoga is a practice linking breath and movement, a practice of inner awareness. This class is dedicated to all q***r embodiments, all trans experiences, and all gender-non-conforming identities. Let’s breathe together, move through shapes with our bodies, and focus inward. No yoga experience necessary.
Notes on access: The class is taught on the ground floor of a wheelchair accessible building. There are no steps. There is one, single occupancy, all gender, wheelchair accessible bathroom.

Our Q***r & Trans Yoga teacher, Kei, believes that each person has the right to learn the movement of their own body, to know its strength and to feel its support. Kei began doing yoga in the 1980s and trained in modern dance, ballet, martial arts, and boxing before returning to yoga in the early aughts. . They are a trauma survivor and have practiced yoga intermittently for their entire life, utilizing breath and movement to come back to the present. Kei’s approach to teaching is rooted in capacity— the capacity of all people to find their own embodied rhythm, and the capacity for embodied knowledges to effect change.
