When Is Local Anesthesia Used? 🩺

You might receive local anesthesia for:

Anesthesia Education: What Is the PACU?

After your procedure, you’ll be moved to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)—a specialized recovery area where your care team closely monitors you as you wake up from anesthesia.

In the PACU, providers track:

• Heart rate and blood pressure
• Pain levels and comfort
• Any side effects like nausea

This phase of care is important to ensure a safe and smooth transition from surgery to recovery.

What does it take to become a CRNA?

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists play a vital role in patient care by providing anesthesia, monitoring patients, and ensuring comfort and safety before, during, and after procedures.

The path to becoming a CRNA requires dedication and advanced training, including:
💉 Earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
💉 Gaining experience in critical care (such as ICU)
💉 Completing a doctoral-level nurse anesthesia program
💉 Passing a national certification exam
