Our team's mission is to improve the prognosis of adult and pediatric malignant brain tumor patients, by developing effective and novel therapies. Malignant brain tumors are aggressive, invasive, and develop resistance to state of the art therapies. Our team works in close collaboration with basic scientists, neurooncologists, radiation-oncologists, neuropathologists, and neurosurgeons, in order to bring novel Phase 1 clinical trials to patients at the University of Michigan. Our novel immunotherapy, which utilizes gene therapy mediated delivery of an immunestimulatory strategy to boost the patients' immune response against the tumor has been approved by the FDA and is currently recruiting patients at our Institution.
