Although today is the last official day of Pride Month, that doesn't mean the advocacy and our voices supporting the LGBTQIA+ community go quiet.

In a world that seems to be growing more chaotic and angry each day, finding a therapist who is the right fit is more important than ever. At Amplify Colectivo, we proudly focus on uplifting voices and identities that are marginalized and often misunderstood by healthcare providers.

Our therapists don't "just" listen; they bring perspectives and understanding that, unfortunately, a lot of healthcare providers still fall short of.

We are a safe space for all and ready to serve you.

We have openings for both in-person (both locations) and telehealth appointments for the following insurances: Blue Cross Complete Medicaid, Meridian Medicaid, and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Juneteenth recognizes this country's second independence day. On June 19, 1865, Union soldier arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas. The army announced that the more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state, were free by executive decree. This day came to be known as "Juneteenth," by the newly freed people in Texas.

Celebrated since 1866, Juneteenth is one of the oldest celebrations of freedom and the newest federally recognized holidays, having been signed into law in 2021.

What are your pronouns? Using someone's correct pronouns is an important aspect of respecting their gender identity. When you refer to someone using the wrong pronoun, it can cause feelings of exclusion and distress. Ensuring you and others are using the correct pronouns can help people feel happiness and confidence in their identities.

Although pronouns feel kind of new having recently taken center stage in the news headlines, using one's correct pronouns has been a big part of the LGTBQ community for many years. Everyone should feel confident and safe in choosing which pronouns to be identified by. While acts of inclusion and respect are such an important aspect of Pride month, learning to use someone's correct pronouns should not be limited to only the month of June.

Here are some tips for using someone's correct pronouns:
- Ask people what their preferred pronouns are and use them consistently.
- If you're not sure what someone's preferred pronouns are, ask them politely.
- If you make a mistake, apologize and correct yourself.
- Avoid making assumptions about someone's gender identity based on their appearance or name.

Part of being an Ally means understanding the difference between one's gender identity and sexual orientation. It is easy to confuse the two, especially with so much misinformation out there.

Gender Identity is how you identify yourself as a man, woman, or non-binary. To respect someone else's gender identity, it is important to use the correct pronouns such as he/him/his, she/her/hers, or they/them.

Sexual Orientation describes a person's physical, romantic, and/or emotional attraction to someone else. There are so many different sexual orientations that people identify with, there's a good chance that you or someone else you know might identify with a different orientation without realizing there is a name for it.

It is crucial to understand that both gender identity and sexual orientation belong on a spectrum. Nothing about someone's identity and orientation is strictly black and white. It is solely up to each individual to determine how they identify and represent themselves to the public.

Being an ally means understanding and respecting key terms that help a person build up their identity.

Thanks to for today's inspired content. Reposted caption below:

"Truthfully, we can't please everyone with the choices we make or actions we decide to take. But when our self-worth is tied to gaining approval from other people - this can be terrifying to face.
When we attempt to live from a place of truth, self-acceptance and authenticity - people don't have to agree.
We have a choice. Live with the discomfort of not pleasing everyone while honoring our truth or live with the discomfort and exhaustion of trying to please everyone while ignoring our truth."

Happy Trans Day of Visibility!! πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

β€œI serve myself and the world by being true to who I am." Thanks to for today's inspired content. "You, exactly as you are right now, are enough. You don't need to change anything. You can stop comparing yourself to others. You can let go of who you think you're supposed to be. You can just be you, living your life in an authentic way, doing what you can to love and learn and contribute in your corner of the world, and that is what matters most. Let us extend this gift of acceptance and love to ourselves and to others, and continuously stepping into ever-evolving versions of ourselves as we love, learn, and contribute to a greater whole."

How do these words resonate with you today?
