January is Glaucoma Awareness Month!
Glaucoma is an eye disease that causes to damage of the optic nerve. This damage then leads to irreversible loss of vision. Glaucoma is considered a "Silent Thief of Sight" because there are no noticeable symptoms in the early stages. Unfortunately, you cannot prevent glaucoma, but you can take active measures to detect it early and protect your vision. The first step in this process is to be sure you are getting regular comprehensive eye exams!
