Veterans: Have you tried Secure Messaging through My HealtheVet?

When VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System is transitioning to the new Federal EHR, your health care providers will rely on Secure Messaging more often to communicate with you. Use Secure Messaging if you have a question or request for your health care team, but do not use it for life-threatening medical emergencies—always call 911.

Sign in to your Login.gov or ID.me account and look for the Secure Messaging tab: https://www.myhealth.va.gov/user-login

Deputy Secretary Paul Lawrence Highlights the Federal EHR in Over 20 Broadcast Interviews

VA Deputy Secretary Paul Lawrence, Ph.D., participated in more than 20 broadcast interviews during a nationwide satellite media tour to share updates on the deployment of the Federal Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Dr. Lawrence shared the following messages:
🔹 VA is on track to implement the Federal EHR at four Michigan sites in April, with a total of 13 sites going live in 2026.
🔹 The Federal EHR will deliver a single health record providing a comprehensive view of Veteran’s health history from military care to VA care
🔹 This modernization will allow providers more time to listen and care for our Veterans with standardized workflows and technology.

The satellite media tour ensures Veterans, caregivers, and communities understand how the Federal EHR will transform care as deployments begin in 2026 and beyond.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most diagnosed cancers among Veterans, which is why VA made colorectal screening easier than ever for Veterans to access either at home or in a VA facility. With VA mailing 35,000 free f***l immunochemical testing (FIT) kits to Veterans every month, new colorectal screening processes, and the use of advanced AI technology, getting screened for colorectal cancer has never been easier or more effective.

No matter how you get screened the most important step is to do it. Talk with your VA care provider about the options that are right for you.
