Jack received his life-saving Total Pancreatectomy and Islet Autotransplant on April 30! So far his recovery has been going well and we hope it continues to go smoothly!

Jack is out of surgery and awake! Thank you so much to everyone who sent good wishes.

And thank you to all of you who helped us not only reach, but surpass our goal for fundraising during his surgery! About $800 was donated today to COTA in honor of Jack. Today’s the day! Jack is undergoing his Total Pancreatectomy with Islet Autotransplantation today. This is an extensive surgery during which surgeons will remove his pancreas, gallbladder, spleen, appendix and a portion of his small intestines. This surgery is expected to take 10-12 hours.

To support Jack today, we have a goal of raising $50 for ’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) for each hour he is in surgery ($500-600 total). Donate to COTA in honor of Jack at cotaforjack.com. Your gift will help with a lifetime of transplant-related expenses!

Jack is 10 years old and in fifth grade. He loves rock climbing (both indoor and outdoor), riding his bike, reading, and playing Minecraft with friends.
