🤩NEW TEACHER ALERT!🤩
Welcome, and to the TBY Teacher Crew!🤗
✨Olive discovered yoga in 2019 during her first year of college as a way to manage anxiety and quickly fell in love with the practice, completing her first YTT in South Dakota in 2021. In 2024, she moved to Ann Arbor for grad school and deepened her studies by completing TBY’s 200-hour YTT. Yoga has been a transformative part of her life, helping her build self-confidence and resilience - qualities she aims to inspire in her students. Olive’s teaching style is grounded in the balance between effort and ease, encouraging students to cultivate strength while leaving room for playfulness.✨
✨Kate began her yoga journey in 2021, seeking peace while navigating immense grief and a high-stress job as an emergency medicine pharmacist. Initially a yoga non-believer, Kate relied on endurance sports like running marathons for solitude, often finding herself battling injuries and frustrations. Tiny Buddha teachers and her mat became a refuge she always felt welcomed back to, despite having zero experience or knowledge of the practice or its philosophies. Her transformative experiences led her to complete her RYT-200 hour training in December 2024 at Tiny Buddha. Always a student, Kate enjoys the discipline of ashtanga, the free-flow style of vinyasa, and the grounded yin practices. As a teacher, Kate hopes to emphasize the acknowledgement and deprioritization of ego, letting go of perfection and performance in your practice, and coming to your mat exactly as you are. She hopes she can help foster self-compassion and inquiry through breath, movement, and meditation. Although she may focus her teachings on her inspirations by nature, the cosmos, or the Sutras, Kate also seems to hold a disproportionate amount of Detroit-sports knowledge (that likely won’t make it to the flows but always fun to talk and/or commiserate about). ✨
