Sleep is important! As a new father I can attest to how much of a game changer a good night’s rest can be. Here are some gentle and effective herbal sleep remedies that I have either recommended or used myself to not only fall asleep but also to achieve an uninterrupted and restful sleep. Vitamin D is an extremely important vitamin that’s often overlooked, especially by northerners. It’s also a vitamin I’m likely to recommend for most patients, as dietary sources of vitamin D are limited. While 1000-2000 IUs is generally safe for consumption, it’s likely that you may need more depending on which state you live in and how much direct sunlight you’re getting on a daily basis. Before supplementing this vitamin, check with your primary care physician as some medications may interact with vitamin D supplements or a certain dosage may be required based on lab values.
