(1)

The Literacy, Language, and Learning Institute (3LI) was founded in the summer of 2012. Together, we have decades of clinical, teaching, and research experience with literacy, language, and learning difficulties experienced by both children and adults. Katz and Pierson have a unique skill set: not only are they certified speech-language pathologists, but they have doctoral degrees in education wit

h a specialty in literacy and learning disabilities—a rare combination. Given their expertise in both oral language and literacy disorders, they understand the intersection of language, reading, spelling, and writing in the context of learning. At 3LI, we provide diagnostic assessment and therapeutic services, in the areas of literacy and language, to children and adults. We offer support and guidance to family members of those who are faced with literacy, language, and learning challenges. We provide consulting services to schools to help them in meeting the needs of their students with literacy, language, and learning difficulties. We conduct professional development seminars, webinars, and workshops on a variety of literacy, language, and learning topics for educators, mental health professionals, physicians, speech-language pathologists, and others. We look forward to using our unique blend of skills to help our community meet the needs of those with literacy, language, and learning disabilities. At 3LI, we believe that individuals with literacy, language, and learning difficulties can learn, achieve, and succeed.
