Thank you to all the people who shared the Annular Solor Eclipse with us at Globe Willow Wellness. Sadly no one took me up on the offer to plant my perennials. Oh well, it was a good try anyway. I need to get them in the ground as soon as possible because I've been waking up to 26-degree weather for the past several days. The geothermal greenhouse is a delight, warm and cozy even with the door and back hatch open all day. It was amazing to me that since my back surgery in February of 2022 I haven't been able to have a garden or active greenhouse, that the parsley that I planted in the sidewall, and Mullen I found on the mountain are still alive and well without any water or care of any kind. I also found four volunteer tomato plants that just popped up in two of my grow boxes! It's a testament of hope for year-round growing using permaculture techniques. I'm now in the process of cutting out the weeds that have grown while I was recovering from surgery and other boring ailments in the last year and a half-ish. I'm using a chop and drop method which will stay on the ground and become mulch for the floor. We also found we have a visitor in the greenhouse that has burrowed a rather large hole into the side of the wall. A bit terrifying to not to know exactly what my visitor us. I'm guessing squirrels! I always try to say something loudly or sing as I go in so as not to surprise said visitor.
I'm headed down to Las Vegas on Monday to visit my neurosurgeon and confess my unknowing sins! I didn't realize that a half hour on a bouncing lawn tractor reseeding the weeds with grass seed would cause a month of pure hell with my sciatic nerve on the right side with use of a walker and cane mandatory which is incredibly irritating on a personality note.
It has given me the opportunity to use my
Do TERRA concentrated oils for plant-based medicine along with pain pills. My partner Kathy is so skilled and helpful with her 13 years of experience as a Wellness Advocate, I have been using 1 gtt (drop) of Roman Chamomile directly on my sciatic nerve area. Nothing like learning how effective plant-based medicine is while learning on your own body. I am finding that plant-based medicine works but it takes longer to start working (than a pill for example).
Yesterday I also met with a client for "The Nurse Advocate" when she and her husband dropped by Globe Willow Wellness Center after the eclipse. I feel so incredibly lucky to have the life and work that I love in my life.
I have to mention that my first official venture with The Nurse Advocate gave me an incredible boost emotionally that I'm on the right path these days. I went north to Provo to meet with a gentleman I met while i was in the hospital for two weeks. He was a homeless veteran and ended up staying in the hospital for a month before his release. He had a budget of $300/week maximum for finding a place to live. I had found a place for a night after his release on Tuesday as I was unable to come pick him up until Wednesday. We had lunch together and made our plan to call and/or visit prospective places that would fit his needs. We finally found a place in Lehi Utah and found an incredibly kind soul who have him a killer deal which met his budget. I call that a huge win and a big boost for me emotionally. I had a friend say, "What are you doing, you can get hurt, veterans can be volatile and unpredictable. I heard that old saying in my head, "there but for the grace of God go I". I said to her, "Yes, I live with a veteran who has PTSD from Vietnam, I know some of the struggle but can't imagine because I'm not a Veteran. As I drove home in the dark after a full day, even though I had forgotten my darn cane, I was stiff and sore and tired, I was elated. This is the life I want for myself and my family including my grandchildren who are too young to understand now. I want to model this type of service to them so they will know we can do hard things in life and it's so rewarding when you have a victory!! Have a great day people and stay tuned for my next adventure.
