💡 LOW VISION LIGHTING TIPS 💡
If you have AMD, everyday spaces may start to feel darker. Simple lighting adjustments can make a big difference when knitting, doing laundry, cooking, or tackling daily tasks. Good lighting helps you make the most of your remaining vision—here’s how:
💡 Brighten the room overall, or use a task lamp for close-up activities.
💡 Position lights to shine directly on what you’re working on, reducing shadows and glare.
💡 Choose LED bulbs labeled “warm,” which have less blue light and are often more comfortable for those with vision impairment.
💡 Try a clip-on light for a hat or cap—it moves with you and shines light exactly where you need it.
Small changes. Big impact. 👀✨

January is National Glaucoma Awareness Month. Glaucoma is a leading cause of vision loss and blindness in the United States. But half of people with glaucoma don’t know they have it.
Glaucoma has no early symptoms. The only way to check for it is to get a comprehensive dilated eye exam. There’s no cure for glaucoma, but starting treatment as early as possible can help stop vision loss. Protect your eyes and schedule an eye exam today!

As part of January’s National Glaucoma Awareness Month, Prevent Blindness is offering a wide variety of free resources to help glaucoma patients and their

As you head into the New Year, it’s a great time to focus on keeping your eyes healthy and comfortable—especially during the winter months. Colder air is naturally drier, and indoor heating further reduces humidity, which can lead to eye discomfort, irritation, redness, and a dry or gritty feeling. Maintaining proper eye hydration helps support the tear film, protect your eyes, promote clear vision, and reduce the risk of dry eye syndrome. Using artificial tears, staying well-hydrated, and adding a humidifier to your indoor spaces can all help combat winter dryness. If dry eyes are bothering you as the New Year begins, don’t hesitate to contact us—we’re here to help.

The season of giving is also a time to think about toy safety. December is Safe Toys and Gifts Month, a reminder to choose presents that help protect kids from preventable injuries. When shopping, keep these tips in mind:
👷‍♂️Skip toys with sharp edges, points, or spikes
👷‍♂️Avoid items that can shatter or break into small pieces
👷‍♂️Include a helmet or protective gear with sports gifts
👷‍♂️Stay away from toys with heating elements, ropes, or cords
A little extra care goes a long way toward a safer holiday. 🎁
