Office of Emergency Management - Warming Relief is Available

During the winter season, Anne Arundel County will make several County facilities available to community members for temporary relief in response to any prolonged cold temperatures.

If the power goes out, remember these important tips:

1. Visit the link below for the BGE Outage Report Page at BGE.com to check the status of power restoration or to report an outage. Outages can also be reported by calling 877-778-2222 or texting "OUT" to 69243.

2. Don't light candles; they could start a fire.

3. Don't use a gas cooking range for emergency heating; it could build up deadly carbon monoxide fumes. Turn off or unplug electronic equipment and appliances.

4. Always use a metal screen over fireplace openings and clear the hearth of any materials to catch flying sparks.

5. Generators should only be used outside in well-ventilated, dry areas, away from air intake into the home. Never use a generator inside your home or in an attached garage.

6. Stay away from fallen or low-hanging wires or anything they touch. Call BGE at (1-877-778-2222) to report wire emergencies. If wires fall on your vehicle, do not touch the wires or the vehicle.

Offices and Customer Service Centers Will Be Closed On Thursday, December 25th and Friday, December 26th, 2025
and then again on Thursday, January 1st and Friday, January 2nd, 2026.

Temporary-Winter Closure Schedule for All Anne Arundel County Senior Activity Centers

The Winter Closure Schedule is
Wednesday, December 24, 2025 - January 4, 2026, for the following senior activity centers: Arnold, Brooklyn Park, O'Malley, Pasadena, Severn, and South County. They will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2026.

The Renovation Closure Schedule is
Monday, December 22, 2025 - Friday, January 23, 2026, for the Annapolis and Pascal Senior Activity Centers. They will reopen on Monday, January 26, 2026.
