On Wednesday, February 26th NBA’s Mental Health and Wellness Team is hosting the webinar “Faithful Voices: Breaking the Silence on Suicide.” In 2022, su***de accounted for 49,476 deaths in the United States—approximately one every 11 minutes. Historically, su***de rates among Black Americans have been perceived as lower compared to other racial groups. However, current trends show an alarming increase in suicidality, challenging outdated perceptions and emphasizing the necessity for a shift in public awareness and intervention strategies to save lives. This vital webinar addresses breaking the stigma, addressing the crisis, and creating effective, compassionate support systems for those in need.

I am still in awe!! Thursday December 5th was an amazing night! My company was honored with the IVP Ambassador Award! Thank you to Anne Arundel County and the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC) I’m honored and so proud to be an alumni of Inclusive Ventures Program!

Since completing IVP, my company has upgraded and relaunched the company website, increased revenue, and obtain one of its largest training contracts! Also, I have been able to connect, collaborate, and support many amazing minority owned, women-owned, and veteran owned businesses thanks to IVP!

A big THANK YOU to Barbara Quaye for being such an amazing champion and for truly seeing something in me and my company that I didn’t think was possible!

Taking place October 4-5 in New Orleans, this gathering is more than just a conference- it is a time for connection, care, rest, and encouragement as you continue to engage your work as a mental health and/or spiritual care provider. The event will feature speakers Rev. Dr. Zachary Moon, Lauren N. Jenkins, LCPC, Wes Parks, LPC, and NBA’s Director of Mental Health & Wellness Initiative, Joselyn Spence.
