The importance of yearly exams: this 35yo patient came in for her yearly exam without any complaints and and 20/20 vision. A routine retinal screening discovered stage iii sickle cell retinopathy in both eyes - a potentially blinding disease, luckily treatable when found early enough. We recommend everyone get a full comprehensive eye exam with an optometrist even if you don’t need glasses.

Did you know not all contacts are soft and disposable? Gas Permeable (or RGP) lenses were the OG lens before dispensable lenses arrived and are still used today for some patients. They often times provide sharper, more crisp vision and can be an option for patients who experience dry eye, who were told their prescription is “too strong” for contacts, or who have certain diseases of the cornea. Dr Miller has fit numerous patients with these lenses over the past 10 years with great success!
