Low back pain from a disc herniation? Your piriformis muscle might be involved, too.

The piriformis is a deep muscle in the buttock that helps rotate the hip and stabilize the pelvis. The muscle overlies the sciatic nerve and can sometimes compress it.

A new study found that people with a herniated disc often have a thicker piriformis muscle, possibly due to inflammation or compensation.

That’s why it’s important to assess more than just the spine. Muscle imbalances can play a significant role in pain and movement. Call us today to book a consultation! 📞\

When you think of your trunk, strength is probably the first thing that comes to mind. 💪

But it’s not just about how strong your muscles are. How well they control movement and keep you stable matters just as much.

That’s why good rehab doesn’t just focus on strength; it also targets control, stability, and coordination. 🙌

All of these need to work together to feel and move your best.
