Spring Herb Class at Wellsview on Saturday 4/12!

This herbal series is offered each season this year! Spring, Summer, Late Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Please join us for this Spring session!

It is a great opportunity to learn herbs in our Materia Medica - both western and eastern - that help us align naturally with what the season brings.

Typically, we will focus on 5-8 herbs in each class, covering general monograph information, some history, ecology and ethnobotany of the herbs; how they relate to our bodies, minds, spirits; and learn ways to integrate them safely into our daily lives promoting greater well-being. We will learn how native, western and eastern traditions with the herbs may serve our lives.

We will provide hands-on 'medicine-making' in relationship with the herbs you personally choose. You will leave class with your own hand-crafted herbal product and recipe(s) for other projects to explore at home each season.

This year's Spring program will offer learnings about the herbs, and celebrate the gifts of adding bitters to our daily mealtimes. And of course, we will sip some spring teas too! Space is limited so sigh up today.

There is a team of teachers for this multi-season series. The faculty for this year's Spring class include Dr. Kate and Christel Libiot as the leaders behind the counters.

This is a live, in-person class. Audio recordings will be available for all who register for this session for personal use only.

Amateur gardeners, Master Gardeners ALL WELCOME! Join us as a volunteer for some safe, fun outside play together. "Many hands make light work" and together we'll grow our flower CSA, botanical sanctuary, and our sheer delight whatever the season at Wellsview! In the later autumn we will also lay the annual labyrinth of lights.

Did you know, Wellsview is part of the United Plant Savers Botanical Sanctuary Network and recently completed planting Ginseng and Goldenseal on site too? The garden team is dedicated to planting and protecting at-risk native medicinal plants on the property.

We look forward to offering more classes and educational explorations as we continue and find ways for us all to connect more with the herbs and plants that support our health and wellness daily. This year we also grew hibiscus, passionflower, lavender, rosemary, thyme, sages, sunflowers, echinacea, foxglove, calendula, nasturtiums and more! We have been busy making teas and tinctures with the herbals we harvested this last summer & fall.

This is WellsviewCare's monthly special "Sound Bath and Meditation" with Venetia Bailey of Gentle Touch of Sound. Bring your own mat/pillow/blanket if you like to rest on the floor. We also offer 'zero-gravity' reclining chairs too, if you prefer. Come listen and be amazed how your nerves can be reset and relieved of holding patterns and tensions with the sound of her "Peter Hess" singing bowls.

Let's be kind to ourselves and each other as we make our recoveries from the past months of another pandemic winter.
