In recognition of Autism Acceptance Month, BHIPP has gathered resources and information about how pediatric primary care providers (PCPs) can identify, coordinate care, and support their patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Currently, 1 in 31 youth in the United States have an ASD diagnosis.1 Primary care providers play a critical role in recognizing symptoms and facilitating early detection, which can significantly improve access to services.2

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) highlights the importance of early detection of ASD through screening at the 18- and 24-month well-child visits. In addition to screening, the AAP encourages PCPs to document and refer a patient for intervention if they present with any developmental delays instead of waiting for a formal autism evaluation.3

The Spring 2026 Impact Report from PHI Access Bridge is officially live 🌉📊
PHI’s Access Bridge is working to close critical gaps in reproductive healthcare by strengthening emergency departments as essential safety nets—especially for communities with limited access to care. Through clinician training, evidence-based protocols, and a growing national fellowship, the program equips providers to deliver services like contraception, miscarriage care, and early pregnancy support when patients need it most.
This work is already making a real impact—reaching dozens of states, supporting fellows across the country (including in areas with severe restrictions), and expanding access to care for patients who might otherwise go without.
At its core, Access Bridge is about equity: making sure where you live or what barriers you face doesn’t determine whether you receive essential, compassionate care.
We’re proud to share this progress and the powerful stories behind it. Read the full Spring 2026 Impact Report at Bridge—it’s truly impactful.

A HUGE victory for Maryland PAs! 🏛️✨
Yesterday marked a historic milestone for our profession as Governor Wes Moore officially signed the Physician Assistant Parity Act of 2026 (SB 326/HB 377) into law! ✍️📜
This landmark legislation ensures PAs have similar rights and responsibilities as other healthcare practitioners across the state—from guardianship and mental health admissions to expanded primary care options. This win is a direct result of the tireless advocacy of our members and leaders.
Official photos from the signing ceremony are coming soon! 📸 Stay tuned to see our team in action at the State House.
Thank you to everyone who raised their voice for PA Parity Bill. Maryland healthcare just got stronger. 💪🏥
