The Center for Vision Development, founded by Dr. Jennifer Kungle, OD, is a specialized program designed to aide those with visual deficiencies. Providing diagnosis, treatment plans, and one-on-one vision therapy, as well as school advocacy, the Center for Vision Development is designed to diagnose neuro-vision difficulties from infants to adults. After an initial consultation in our Annapolis location, treatment may involve the use of lenses, prisms and/or neuro-optometric therapy. Our staff has over thirty years of combined experience providing neuro-vision rehabilitation for adults and children diagnosed with Strabismus, Amblyopia, Binocular Vision Deficiencies, Autism, ADD and other learning disabilities. Our Vision Therapists are members of The College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) and have been trained and tested extensively in all aspects of visual development and neuro-vision therapy. They attend many hours of continuing education throughout the year to keep their skills up to date.Drs. Kungle, O’Meara and Berger, along with their therapists, work with patients in a one on one setting so you can be assured that you or your child will receive professional, individualized care of your specific visual needs. Together our goals are to enhance the visual development for patients of all ages in the most effective manner possible. The Center for Vision Development is a board certified practice through The College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) providing testing and treatment for visual challenges within Anne Arundel County. Our evaluation process involves a step by step format to determine if a vision problem exists or if vision enhancement is required. The initial evaluation will provide a complex look at you or your child’s visual system and typically lasts 60 minutes. If a vision problem is detected a more detailed look, involving over 20 visual skills necessary to learn effectively in the classroom or office, will be recommended. Following this second evaluation a consultation will be scheduled with the doctor where the results will be discussed and you will be provided with a detailed vision report including appropriate school or work accommodations. When vision problems are detected, or vision enhancement is requested, a treatment program will be designed by one of our doctors. Treatment may involve the use of lenses, prisms and/or Neuro-Visual Rehabilitative Therapy.
