The TRICARE Open Season is officially here — running from November 10 through December 9, 2025.

Now is your annual opportunity to enroll in a plan, switch your plan, or stay right where you are. Any changes you make will take effect on January 1, 2026.

Who must take action? If you’re enrolled in or eligible for TRICARE Prime, Prime Remote, or Select you should review your options.

Important: If you’re active duty or have TRICARE For Life, you’re not required to make changes during Open Season.

What should you do now?

• Visit your regional TRICARE website or call your contractor to review plan options.
• Make sure your family’s info is up to date in DEERS.
• Decide whether to keep your current plan, switch, or enroll in a new one by December 9.

Don’t miss your chance to get the coverage that best fits you and your family in 2026. If you miss this window, you’ll generally wait until next year unless you experience a qualifying life event.

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law.
