Blue Lotus Yoga Studio offers both heated and non-heated yoga, in addition to barre and sculpt classes. Our two-studio space enables us to offer traditional vinyasa and yin in one room, as well as hybrid barre, sculpt, and core-centered flows in another. ✨INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT: MEET KELSEY!✨

Kelsey is a graduate of the Blue Lotus 200-hr YTT. Starting July 19, she’ll teach Warm Vinyasa II Saturdays from 8:30-9:30am. We’re so happy to have her on the team!

ABOUT KELSEY
After taking her first class at Blue Lotus Yoga Studio, Kelsey knew she found her yoga home. She was incredibly excited to discover BLYS when she first moved to the area a little over a year ago, because she knew it was a place that would help her deepen her practice.

Now a recent graduate of the Blue Lotus 200-hr YTT, Kelsey is ready to use the foundational knowledge she gained to guide others through their practice. She truly believes that, through practicing correct posture, controlled breathing, and building strength through movement and repetition, we can begin to fully understand how innately powerful we are.

The Blue Lotus 200-hour YTT will provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to confidently teach yoga within a dynamic, supportive community of like-minded individuals.

This is a unique opportunity to expand your understanding of yogic philosophy, anatomy, pranayama, asana, and the rich history of the practice.

Unlike other trainings, our program includes three Co-Lead Trainers — Kate Curry, Julie Nogueira, and Alicia Sweeney — allowing for a more customized experience, as well as mentorship opportunities throughout the training and beyond.

This Saturday will mark the end of an era. Beloved team member and Blue Lotus OG Athena will teach her last 2 classes at BLYS before she relocates to California.

Athena has been teaching at BLYS since we first opened our doors on January 1, 2018. Her infectious laugh, creative sequences, and terrifyingly realistic Halloween costumes will be sorely missed!

✨Introducing the Blue Lotus 50-hour Yin Yoga Training & Immersion✨

This program, led by E-RYT 500 Alicia Sweeney with guest instruction by Dr. Sara Poldmae, will unfold over the course of 2 immersive weekends. 🧘‍♀️

The training is designed for both yoga teachers and dedicated students who are ready to explore the art of slowing down. Through immersive practice, the study of anatomy, exploration of the Chinese meridians, and philosophical inquiry, participants will dive deep into the practice and connect with members of the Annapolis yoga community. 💙

🕉️ REGISTRATION OPENS FRIDAY, JUNE 27th. Certified yoga instructors and dedicated students are invited to apply.

ABOUT OLIVIA

Olivia began practicing yoga while in graduate school as a way to manage stress, and what began as a personal practice quickly grew into a deep and lasting passion. As an occupational therapist and certified hand therapist, she has always been fascinated by the human body. Her background in anatomy and rehabilitation deeply informs her teaching, helping her guide students safely and mindfully through their practice.

She believes yoga is truly for everyone—no matter your age, background, or experience level. Her classes are designed to help students build strength in body, clarity in mind, and connection through breath. Whether you’re looking to restore balance or challenge yourself physically, she aims to create a supportive space where all are welcome.

We’re thrilled to welcome Cara to the BLYS team who, starting this Friday, will teach 6:00am Vinyasa Express.

ABOUT CARA
Cara dabbled in yoga during college while recovering from a repetitive stress injury. Years later, she began practicing in earnest to round out her fitness routine. Cara loved how yoga improved her physical performance, but it was the emotional benefits that kept her coming back to the mat.

After over a decade of committed practice, Cara completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Blue Lotus Yoga Studio with Julie Nogueira, Kate Curry, and Alicia Sweeney. Cara believes that yoga can be a powerful tool for self-discovery and building community. She can’t wait to share this transformative way of moving with you!

Our Story

Blue Lotus Yoga Studio was founded in 2018 by Julie Nogueira and Duffy Perkins. Their mission---to create a space where everyone feels welcome, supported, and empowered. BLYS takes a holistic approach to health and wellness with classes designed to tone, strengthen, balance, and restore.

At Blue Lotus Yoga Studio, you’ll find both heated and non-heated yoga, as well as barre, sculpt, and cardio kick classes. Our two-studio space enables us to offer traditional vinyasa, gentle, and yin in one room, and fitness classes in another, air conditioned space.

Our goal is simple: we aim to provide Annapolis area residents with a premier yoga and fitness experience in a welcoming, supportive environment. Our space is clean and inviting and our teachers are the best in the region.
