One of our favorite events of this year was participating in the On Our Own of Maryland, Inc. annual conference in Ocean City in May. This year's theme was "All Hands on Deck: Empowering Behavioral Health Systems from Within".

We were excited to see a hightlight of our workshop led by HRP founder, Beth Shekinah - Shaman & Transformational Facilitator, included in their summary blog post along with a photo from our circle's heart center!

Here's what they said about "Using Restorative Practices Circles for Connection, Collaboration & Community":

"Using Restorative Practices Circles for Connection, Collaboration, & Community offered workshop attendees an immediate sense of warmth and intentionality in the space. The presenter, Beth Shekinah Terrence, founder of Holistic Recovery Pathways, set a welcoming tone through both her presence and the thoughtfully arranged environment. At the center of the room, slips of paper reminded us of values such as “empathy,” and “support,” and were surrounded by grounding objects such as a seashell and stones.

The session included opportunities for self-reflection and connection, and collaborative learning activities to discuss each of the aspects of the restorative practices framework – the who, what, when, or why of using restorative circles. She guided us through key restorative principles designed to nurture community, deepen collaboration, and promote individual and collective well-being. By the end of the session, we could clearly see that restorative circles are an effective way of building connection, trust, and community, and the workshop itself was a meaningful reminder of the power of creating spaces where people feel truly seen and heard."

Did you know Holistic Recovery Pathways Founder Beth Shekinah Terrence has been active as a Board Member with Samaritan House Annapolis since April 2024?

For more than 50 years, Samaritan House has been a pillar of hope and healing in Annapolis. Founded by community members who recognized a growing need, it has grown into a trusted residential treatment program offering a safe, supportive environment for men in recovery. Nestled on a peaceful wooded campus, Samaritan House provides housing, peer support, and evidence-based care to help individuals rebuild their lives and sustain long-term healing.

We're approaching our annual 12th Annual Burritos for Beds Benefit Breakfast on Thursday, May 8th. As we gather for this year’s breakfast, we celebrate the foundation built—and plant the seeds for the next chapter in recovery care.

We’re growing from those strong roots and launching a new chapter that will expand access to care. With your presence and support, we can bring this vision to life.

If you are local to the the Maryland/DC area, I invite you to join me - stop by for good food, great company, and a powerful next chapter.

Funds raised through this event will help us grow recovery resources to serve more people in our community.

No tickets are required—just stop by!

And if you plan to attend, we'd love to know. We've got a lot of burritos to make!

RSVP on Evenbrite at https://burritosforbeds2025.eventbrite.com

And invite your friends or colleagues here to our FB event Burritos for Beds: 12th Annual Samaritan House Benefit Breakfast.

Meditation is a form of activism, because when a person rests in their natural state of luminous emptiness, compassion arises naturally. The impact of someone resting in awareness and vastness extends beyond the individual, influencing everyone around them, and because we are all connected it affects the fabric of our world. The deeper their meditation is the more impact it has. The Buddha is still affecting our world 2500 years later. ~ Lama Tsultrim Allione

Ho Great Mystery.
We awake to another Sun,
Grateful for gifts bestowed
Granted one by one,

Grateful for the greatest gift
The precious breath of life,
Grateful for abilities
That guide us day and night.

As we walk our chosen path
Of lessons we must learn,
Spiritual peace and happiness
Rewards of life we earn.

Thank You for Your spiritual strength
And for our thoughts of praise,
Thank You for Your infinite love
That guide us through these days.

Happy Autumn Equinox to all my friends in the northern hemisphere!

I had a beautiful conversation with my soul sister and favorite collaborator, Andrea Hylen on her Carving a New Path Podcast.

We explored the Autumn seasonal energies and this potent eclipse window that bookmarks this year’s equinox.

It includes a guided meditation to help you align with the energy of the season.

Have a listen and come explore more with us in our Energetic Explorations for Evolution FB group.

Enjoy! 🍁🧡🎃
