We are keenly aware of the needs of our patients, and strive to deliver compassionate care throughout our patient’s journey, from disease onset to remission. QUALITY
You will

be seen by a rheumatologist who has completed 3 years of internal medicine residency and is board certified in internal medicine, and then underwent 2 years of specialist fellowship training in rheumatology and is board certified in rheumatology as well; This will assure you that your care is in good hands. Your rheumatologists believe in evidence based medicine and not eminence based medicine. So if your doctor recommends a medication for you, it is because extensive scientific evidence shows the benefits of a particular medication and not "because we said so". ACCESS
We know that when you want to see a rheumatologist, you should be able to see them in a reasonable time; If we give you an appointment for 3 months from today, your condition could worsen in the interim. We therefore make every effort to see all new patients within a 2 week time frame. Additionally, if your physician feels you should be seen sooner, we ALWAYS try to see you within 48 hours. If it means we have to stay back in the evening to see you, we will! WAITING TIME
Your time is just as important as ours. No one wants to wait for an hour to see their physician. We respect your time and we hope you will respect ours as well. We request you to come on time for your appointment. If you are a new patient, we would appreciate it if you can come 15 minutes prior to your appointment so that you can finish all paperwork and be seen on time. In fact if you complete the forms online prior to your visit, you will have an even more pleasurable visit ! If you have to wait more than 45 minutes to be seen, it means we are not doing a good job and we will see you for free.Yes, you read that right. TECHNOLOGY
We use a CMS compliant Electronic Medical Record system- this allows us to be a "paperless" office- allowing us to store all documents electronically and securely; Using our Patient Portal, you will be able to access your records from the comfort of your home and electronically communicate with your physician. Since our chart notes are completed on the day of service, your referring physician will get a report from our office within 48 hours of your visit- so that they are kept up to date on your health status. We try to be active on Facebook to keep our patients updated on medical news and information that would be useful to them and additionally for them to get to know us better. We treat all our patients like family and feel that if we open up to them they will treat us like family too !

We welcome Dr. Jung Whan "James" Yoon to our Practice!

Dr. Jung Whan (James) Yoon was born in South Korea and came to Charlottesville, VA in his late teens. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a double major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Upon graduation, he pursued master's studies – an MPH from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health and an MS in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Yoon earned his medical degree at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Rheumatology Fellowship training at Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center/HCA Healthcare/University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Yoon has written and presented research abstracts and posters at local and national levels. His areas of interest include rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, systemic sclerosis, vasculitis, and osteoporosis.

Away from the office, Dr. Yoon enjoys spending time with his wife and son outdoors, watching and playing soccer, and traveling. In addition to English, he is fluent in Korean.
