Hey Bestie…
Dr. Molly here. The world is on fire. You still have to work, care for your family, pay your mortgage, and tend to your health — all while chaos and uncertainty feel endless. It’s easy for your nervous system to check out or your mind to dissociate when everything feels overwhelming.
I’ve navigated my own share of chaos and trauma, and I’ve learned ways to pull myself out of dissociation so I can stay grounded, clear, and proactive. Even doing a few of these tips can help you reconnect to yourself and feel more in control.
🫂 Find a therapist whose values align with yours. You deserve a place to speak honestly and process your experiences with someone who truly understands. Therapy isn’t just “talking” — it’s practicing safety and being witnessed.
🫂 Receive regular bodywork. Acupuncture, massage, cranio-sacral therapy, facials, and other forms of bodywork support the nervous system and release tension.
🫂 Seek aligned community. Surround yourself with people who see and support you. Connection stabilizes.
🫂 Protect your sleep. Aim for 8 hours nightly. Sleep repairs the body, balances hormones, and restores resilience.
🫂 Move your body. Walking, yoga, stretching, or light strength work helps discharge stress and restore balance.
🫂 Limit constant input. News, social media, and notifications keep your system activated. Take intentional breaks.
🫂 Spend time outside. Sunlight and nature regulate circadian rhythms and calm stress.
🫂 Create small rituals. Tea, journaling, meditation, prayer, or breathwork can anchor your day.
🫂 Eat regularly and nourish your body. Protein, healthy fats, and whole foods stabilize energy and support the nervous system.
Perfection isn’t the goal. The goal is supporting your nervous system so that even when life feels chaotic, you can return to yourself, stay grounded, and move forward with clarity and resilience.
