In honor of Senior Citizen Month, we’re excited to introduce you to one of our beloved residents at Signature HealthCARE of Sunrise Manor—Henry, a lifelong and very proud Kentucky Wildcats fan!

When asked about the proudest moments in his life, Henry didn’t hesitate—cheering on the boys in blue has been a true highlight. From driving his decked-out Wildcat car in parades to attending games at Rupp Arena (and even sitting in on a few private practices!), Henry’s passion for his team runs deep.

He's even featured in the book "The Sixth Man," a tribute to the spirit of Kentucky basketball fans. Around here, Henry isn’t just a fan—he’s often called Kentucky’s biggest fan.

His visit was followed by a Kentucky Chamber dinner held in his honor, where we had the opportunity to hear updates on key issues and initiatives happening in Washington.

Several of our Tennessee facilities came together for a fun-filled day of friendly competition at the Signature Senior Olympics—and WOW, did our staff and residents bring the energy!

A huge shoutout to the incredible teams from Monteagle, South Pittsburg, Cleveland, Rockwood, Spring City, and Fentress County for showing up with spirit, smiles, and serious skills. Every moment was filled with laughter, heart, and a whole lot of Signature pride.

Matt Clark brings nearly two decades of leadership experience to his role as CEO and Administrator at Hermitage Care & Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro, KY. He’s known for turning things around in skilled nursing facilities—improving operations, boosting team morale, and raising the bar for resident care. Over the years, Matt has helped several centers thrive, focusing on smart planning, strong teams, and creating a culture where people genuinely enjoy coming to work.

Before stepping into the world of long-term care, Matt followed a very different path—he was a chef! A proud graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago, he even served as Signature HealthCARE’s Regional Director of Dining Services at the Home Office. That unique background has given him a deep appreciation for hospitality, service, and the joy of bringing people together.

We want to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone in Jackson County and beyond who donated, stopped by, shopped, and supported us. The turnout was amazing, the amount of items sold was astounding — and let’s be honest, y’all showed off too! 😄

It was a beautiful example of our community coming together for a great cause. Every bit of it goes toward our residents’ activity fund, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

🎂 July Birthday Celebration at Jackson Manor! 🎂

This month, we gathered in the dining room to celebrate our wonderful July birthdays with joy, laughter, and a little extra sugar. Residents enjoyed soft-serve ice cream that brought smiles all around, followed by a slice (or two!) of truly delicious birthday cake. 🍦🍰

The room was filled with music, conversation, and that unmistakable warmth that only comes from good company and great cake. 🎶❤️

A big thank you to our dedicated team who made the celebration special, and to our amazing residents—your light makes Jackson Manor feel like home every single day.

🎉 Friday Highlights at Jackson Manor! 🎉

We had a laid-back and snack-filled Friday here at Jackson Manor, with residents enjoying a relaxing afternoon of good food, conversation, and a creative group project that definitely kept us on our toes. 🖌️

🍽️ Snack menu included:
– Crispy, cheesy Bacon Cheddar Potato Skins (gone in a flash)
– Classic Oreo Ice Cream Cones 🍦
– Cheese & Crackers, Bananas, and Fresh Garden Cucumbers 🥒
– Mini Muffins and refreshing Orange V8 Splash to keep things balanced and tasty

And yes—we finished our group project: Back and Forth Art. What started as a slightly confusing task turned into a shared effort full of trial, error, and teamwork. No one’s totally sure what it’s supposed to be, but we finished it together, and honestly… that’s kind of the magic.

What a week at Jackson Manor! From parachute games and courtroom debates to blueberry muffins and mini BLTs, we kept the good times rolling.

We baked Dolly Parton blueberry muffins (huge hit!), shared our thoughts on mock trial verdicts, and enjoyed sweet Wednesday visits from the Encouragers—complete with treats, of course. We flew kites, played bingo, stayed active with Restore Skills, and took time to photograph our blooming garden.

We even grilled up mini BLTs that disappeared in seconds—and just when we thought it couldn’t get better… we welcomed a new-to-us ice cream machine! Big thanks to Debbie for keeping things cool and delicious.

It was on the calendar to make soup beans today, so we went out and pulled our garden onions — and got two cucumbers to boot.

I made soup beans, cornbread, mac & cheese, sliced tomatoes, the cucumbers, and of course those fresh garden onions. It somehow fed everybody, and they all got a bit or three.

A few even said it was good — and that really meant something, because the ones who spoke up usually don’t say much at all. It was just nice to know they enjoyed it. That made my whole day. 💛
