Dr. Kelly Thao Nguyen is a family optometric physician at New Insight Family Eyecare in Ansonia, Connecticut. Prior to opening her practice in 2021, she was employed in group private practices in New York and Connecticut. Dr. Nguyen received her Bachelor of Science degree at Rochester Institute of Technology in 2004, and her Doctorate degree in Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in 2010. She completed her clinical rounds at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center of Hudson Valley in New York, as well as Dorchester House Multi-Service Center in Boston. Dr. Nguyen specializes in the treatment and management of ocular disease, routine eye exams, as well as standard and complex contact lens fittings. She offers emergency care for infections, minor abrasions, allergic reactions, and removal of foreign bodies, and is pleased to accept new patients at her office at 336 Main Street, Ansonia, CT. Dr. Nguyen is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Connecticut Association of Optometrists. Dr. Nguyen is bilingual, speaking English as well as being fluent in Vietnamese. She also can also communicate using American Sign Language. In her free time, Dr. Nguyen loves to spend time with her husband and son. She enjoys traveling, hiking, fishing and growing microgreens.
