Several months ago, my friend Jill invited me to join her first class on Shamanism. It had been several years since I took my last class on this subject, and I had been feeling a pull to get back in touch with my spiritual side. The past 3 years have been filled with building acquisition, remodeling and work...work and more work.
This course has proven to be so much more than a refresher on the four directions of the medicine wheel. I am deepening my understanding of Shamanism and of my responsibility to tend to my โtraumasโ.
I am being reminded on how to release habits, behaviors and conditions that no longer bring me joy or that hold me back in this life.
I am understanding the importance of intention and ceremony.
The importance of being present in this moment.
The importance of taking the time to sit in the stillness and listen to all the universe and nature has to say.
Making time to get to know me.
The importance of being true to myself.
Shamanism isnโt a religion. It is a way of life. To know we are all connected to Source/God and to each other. By working on me and my connection, I am helping create a better world - not only for me, but my family, my friends and my community.
๐ Thank you for letting me share and for being a part of my community. I'd love to hear what practices or hobbies help you reconnect with yourself.
