💰 Six Social Security Changes Coming in 2026
Big updates are coming to Social Security in 2026 that may affect what you receive and when you choose to retire. Here are six key changes to know:

1️⃣ 2.8% COLA Increase
Benefits are expected to rise by 2.8%, adding about $56 a month to the average retirement check starting January 2026.

2️⃣ Full Retirement Age = 67
For those born in 1960 or later, full retirement age is now 67. Claiming earlier still means a permanent reduction; waiting can increase your monthly amount.

3️⃣ Higher Earnings Limit if You Work
If you work while collecting Social Security before full retirement age, you’ll be able to earn more before any reduction in your benefit kicks in.

4️⃣ Higher Taxable Wage Cap
The income limit subject to Social Security tax is increasing, so higher earners will pay in on a larger portion of their wages—and may receive slightly higher future benefits.

5️⃣ More Needed to Earn Credits
You’ll need a bit more income per year to earn Social Security “credits.” Most people still need 40 credits (about 10 years of work) to qualify for retirement benefits.

6️⃣ Ongoing Funding Concerns
Social Security faces long-term funding pressure, and without action from Congress in the coming years, future benefits could be reduced. The program isn’t “going away,” but changes are likely.

Loving Home Care Attends 2025 Tennessee Association for Home Care Conference

Gatlinburg, TN — November 2025

Administrator Aisha Lbhalla of Loving Home Care attended the 2025 Tennessee Association for Home Care (TAHC) Fall Conference in Gatlinburg, joining home care leaders and professionals from across the state for three days of learning, collaboration, and networking.

The conference featured insightful sessions such as the TennCare CHOICES Update and the popular CHOICES MCO Panel, which she facilitated, which included representatives from BlueCare Tennessee, UnitedHealthcare, and Wellpoint. These sessions highlighted updates in Medicaid long-term services, care coordination, and provider collaboration across Tennessee’s home care landscape.

Mrs. Lbhalla also participated in the Personal Support Services Agency (PSSA) track, including covering practical strategies that help improve operations and better support both caregivers and clients, — values central to Loving Home Care’s mission.

A highlight of the event was the WellSky sponsor dinner, which Mrs. Lbhalla attended as a member of the TAHC PSSA Committee. The evening featured a delicious seafood dinner and enjoyable conversations that fostered new connections within the home care community.

“The TAHC Conference continues to be one of the most impactful gatherings for providers in our state,” said Aisha Lbhalla, Administrator of Loving Home Care. “It’s an honor to connect with so many professionals dedicated to quality, integrity, and person-centered care.”

The knowledge and relationships gained at TAHC will further strengthen Loving Home Care’s mission of delivering “Peace of Mind Care You Can Trust and Afford.” 💜

💞 National Family Caregivers Month 2025 — “Plug Into Care”

Every November, we pause to honor the heart and strength of family caregivers — the parents, spouses, siblings, children, and friends who selflessly provide daily care and comfort to their loved ones.

This year’s theme, “Plug Into Care,” reminds caregivers to stay connected — to the resources, tools, and support networks that help them care not only for others, but for themselves.

This national initiative brings together nonprofit partners and corporate sponsors to make resources like webinars, respite care, counseling, and case management more accessible to families across the country.

At Loving Home Care, we understand that caregiving begins at home — and it’s both a labor of love and a tremendous responsibility.
💗 We’re here for you. Our team provides respite care and trusted in-home support so you can take that much-needed break, recharge, and avoid burnout — knowing your loved one is in compassionate, capable hands.

This November, we celebrate you — for your love, dedication, and the difference you make every single day.

We’re thrilled to share that our Administrator was invited to speak on the panel “Breaking Barriers in STEM: Engineering, Medicine, and Tech.”

This panel was part of a summit aimed at inspiring the next generation by bringing together young professionals, college students, and community leaders for a day full of workshops, panels, and networking. The audience included professionals from diverse fields, all united by the shared goal of learning, connecting, and growing.

Home care may not traditionally fit into the “STEM” category, she notes how leadership, compliance, and caregiving are rooted in the same principles driving innovation — structure, systems, and problem-solving.

“Loving Home Care began with a genuine desire to serve and has grown into more than just a business—it’s a mission rooted in faith, excellence, and community care. While my background isn’t in traditional STEM, leading a home-care agency requires creativity, organization, and adaptability—qualities that drive progress in any field. At its core, it’s about people—building trust, uplifting caregivers, and making every client feel seen, safe, and valued. Every system or process we implement should answer one question: How can we better serve people with dignity and care? This commitment extends to our caregivers, who are the heart of our agency. By supporting, uplifting, and providing them with the tools and training they need to succeed, we empower caregivers to feel valued, which in turn elevates the quality of care they provide.

We’re proud to represent the home-care community in spaces where faith, leadership, and service converge. These conversations show that excellence and empathy go hand in hand — in science, leadership, and caregiving. At Loving Home Care, we believe true innovation in caregiving begins with heart. 💕

💜 Tips for Family Caregiver Exhaustion 💜

Family caregivers do so much more than provide care — they hold entire households together.

Many are caring for aging parents or loved ones while also managing their own families, children, and careers. It’s a role filled with love, but also with exhaustion, guilt, and constant juggling.

Here are a few gentle reminders from for Family Caregivers to Deal with Their Toughest Days:

1️⃣ Take short breaks throughout the day — even five minutes helps you reset.
2️⃣ Stay connected with friends and family for emotional support.
3️⃣ Focus on one task at a time to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
4️⃣ Keep a small “gratitude list” to remind yourself of daily wins.
5️⃣ Ask for help — caregiving is a team effort, not a solo mission.

At Loving Home Care, we see you — the family caregiver doing it all.
You’re not just caring for your loved one; you’re balancing work, family, and life’s many demands.

We’re here for you, too.
Loving Home Care provides support, respite, and relief for family caregivers — so you can take care of yourself while we care for the ones you love.

🌙 Tranquil Tuesday: Rest for the Mind, Renewal for the Heart

At Loving Home Care, we believe that caring for others begins with caring for ourselves. 🩷
Both seniors and caregivers give so much of themselves each day — offering comfort, patience, and love. But rest and mental peace are just as essential to well-being as medication, meals, or mobility.

🕊️ Try This Tonight
As you settle in for the night, close your eyes and focus on something that brings you peace — perhaps a joyful memory, a familiar prayer, or a moment of quiet gratitude.
If worries arise, acknowledge them and gently guide your thoughts back to that place of calm.
Breathe deeply, release tension, and allow your body to unwind.

💤 Why It Matters
A peaceful mind supports better sleep, sharper focus, and a lighter spirit. For seniors, restful sleep can improve mood, balance, and overall health. For caregivers, it restores the patience, compassion, and strength needed to provide quality care each day.

🌸 At Loving Home Care, we care for the whole person — body, mind, and soul.
When caregivers and clients both rest well, everyone thrives.

How the Government Shutdown Affects Seniors (October 2025)

A federal government shutdown doesn’t stop all programs — but it can delay or disrupt key services that many older adults depend on.
Here’s what matters most:

🧓 How the Government Shutdown Affects Seniors (October 2025)

A federal shutdown doesn’t stop all programs, but it can delay or disrupt key services older adults rely on. Here’s what matters most:

💰 Social Security & SSI
Payments will continue as scheduled. However, new applications, appeals, and card replacements may be delayed due to limited staff. Expect longer wait times and slower responses.
🟣 Bottom line: Benefits continue, but service will be slower.

❤️ Medicare & Health Coverage
Your Medicare stays active — doctor visits, hospital care, and prescriptions remain covered. Administrative tasks such as new enrollments or plan changes may take longer.
🟣 Bottom line: Health care remains intact, but be patient with paperwork.

✈️ Travel & Transportation
Airports stay open, but TSA and air traffic staff are working unpaid, leading to possible longer lines and travel delays. National parks and monuments may close, and passport processing could slow.
🟣 Bottom line: Travel continues, but expect possible delays.

🍽️ Food & Nutrition Help
Meals on Wheels and senior meal programs may face temporary funding issues if the shutdown continues. SNAP benefits should continue for now but could be disrupted if it lasts weeks.
🟣 Bottom line: Most meal programs continue, but check locally if the shutdown extends.

⚕️ Veterans & Health Facilities
VA hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies remain open. Some benefit processing may slow for new claims.
🟣 Bottom line: Care continues with minor delays.

✅ What Seniors Can Do
Use online and direct deposit services for Social Security and Medicare. Refill prescriptions early, allow extra time for travel, and follow updates on SSA.gov and Medicare.gov.

💜 While this shutdown and uncertainty is happening, we’re still here for you — with care, compassion, and support whenever you need it.

💪 5 Safe Walker Exercises for Seniors 💪

Staying active helps prevent falls, maintain independence, and improve strength! Here are simple, safe moves seniors can do with a walker:

1️⃣ Calf Raises – Stand behind your walker. Lift your heels off the ground, then slowly lower them. Strengthens ankles & calves.

2️⃣ Leg Lifts – Hold onto your walker, lift one leg to the side, pause, then lower it back down. Switch sides to strengthen hips.

3️⃣ Marching in Place – Stand tall behind the walker. Lift your knees one at a time, like marching. Improves balance & coordination.

4️⃣ Side Steps – With the walker in front, take small steps to the side, then back. Builds leg strength & stability.

5️⃣ Heel-to-Toe Walk – Step forward by placing your heel directly in front of your other foot’s toes. Use the walker for steady support. Boosts balance and walking confidence.

⚠️ Tip: Always move slowly, keep your walker steady, and check with a healthcare provider before starting any new routine.

💜 At Loving Home Care, our caregivers can guide and support seniors through these exercises — making sure each movement is safe, encouraging, and effective. Together, we help our clients stay strong, independent, and confident every day.

🌸 Loving Home Care in the Community 🌸

This week we had the pleasure of attending the annual TennCare Community Forum held in Nashville.

This important gathering brought together enrollees, families, natural supports, provider agencies, community organizations, and MCO staff — all with the shared goal of supporting seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those who are physically, intellectually, and otherwise vulnerable in our community.

✨ At Loving Home Care, we value being part of these forums because they keep us informed, connected, and equipped with the resources needed to better serve. Staying engaged ensures we can continue to advocate for those we care for and bring back the very best tools and knowledge to support them.

We are grateful to be part of a community that works together for the well-being of our seniors and our most vulnerable neighbors. 💜

Our Story

Loving Home Care is a small family service dedicated to helping seniors receive quality, safe, affordable care all in the comfort of home.

At Loving Home Care we desire a personal relationship with our clients. As an administrator, I personally perform routine calls and visits to ensure that Loving Home Care is meeting the needs of our clients.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality of home care that is trustworthy, safe, and affordable. We treat your loved ones like family, with the dignity, respect, and consideration they deserve as if we are caring for our own loved ones.

Loving Home Care developed out of a desire to help others. While growing up, my mother who was a nurse would occasionally take me to visit her elderly patients in the nursing home. Many had few visits because their families were busy or lived away. These visits with my mom are memories that have remained with me.
